Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Probably not the best way to react to someone who is making custom sprites for you. If you have an issue with the sprite, and the midriff bothers you that much, you can take it upon yourself to edit the ten offending pixels. I don't think it sexualizes the character at all, but I can foresee where this is going to go so I'm just going to kindly to suggest you treat people who do favors for you better.

Apologies for my behavior, during the time I wrote that post I got annoyed of course I could have kept it to myself and think before what I posted, also could have posted something else less confrontational. I'm sorry and I'll keep civil.Marty Kirra wrote:Probably not the best way to react to someone who is making custom sprites for you. As for editing the sprite myself, to be honest I'm not a sprite artist nor do I know how to do it

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I really only did it because the skeleton hoodie is impossible due to the pixel resolution. I wasn't trying to "sexualize" her or anything, just add color and contrast. It's fine if you don't like it, I'll just use it for my own projects.Jinal wrote:
Why do people keep adding midriffs? Especially it looks not very accurate to the 2nd picture I've posted.
Sorry but it just irritates me when everytime women are in designed wearing trousers/shirts they always have midriffs which is just a cheap way of sexaulizing them.
Okay, I would say go and make a 'variation' that actually looks just like second picture (skeleton hoodie, shirt), with no midriffs.
Also just incase if you ever noticed, all the pictures I've picked were specifics to avoid midriffs yet you did it anyways.

Looks good, either way

Damn you Doomguy and your sexualised midriff! Stupid sexy Doomguy.

I don't think the sprite in question was being particularly sexualised in this case but, as a general principle, I agree with you. In games male characters can just get on with being characters (more or less) whereas female characters pretty much always have to be "teh sexy".

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Well of course there's also a non-midriff version available above now which you can also use...Sprite Noob wrote:I really only did it because the skeleton hoodie is impossible due to the pixel resolution. Anyways, I was thinking of a gameplay mod where all the Player characters are Women, but each of them have different skills which one is a 'fighter' or run and gun (the woman with the leather jacket), a magic user (Raven) and such.
Of course what's left now is...well a completely nude woman sprite of course I remember creating a thread long ago which has sprites of a nude woman but the user have long since taken off the page though. Thing is, could there be a possibility of Full Frontal Assault which the player character is nude but maybe has a access to wide array of godlike powers and such. Well there's already the Succubus from earlier versions of AEOD though...

Nope. I'll stick with the version I made. She can be an npc or something for now. I'm moving on to another sprite. Brainstorming some enemy sprites.

Maybe you make more variations of women wearing causal street clothes including one being player characters.Sprite Noob wrote:Nope. I'll stick with the version I made. She can be an npc or something for now. I'm moving on to another sprite. Brainstorming some enemy sprites.
Well speaking of which, if you're making a female player character who wears a leather jacket...don't have her in a midriff but rather in a ti-shirt, actual blue jeans and of course hear leather jacket can look like a bikers, and she can have long jet black hair...while carrying dual sawed off shotguns.
Well since we need a badass woman here...
