Well, that explains why I like it. I don't actually do any modelling more than a box or two.leileilol wrote:Milkshape 3D is often suggested by the inexperienced, because it's only easy at creating primitives, and false sense of "oooh huge import / export bullet list it must be the best thing for games". Making actual art in them is too restricting (the viewports, the modeling tools themselves, and the lack of control), and its animation system is a joke. It's also had critical bugs and been stagnant for over 15 years. It's WORSE than free tools.
No one worth their salt recommends Milkshape 3D. Ever. Also its MD3 support sucks, you'd need to write a QC file and precisely make triangles to serve as tags, which is rather unintuitive.
Someone needs to make a imagemacro on why MS3D sucks because i'm so sick of explaining why not Milkshape3D to the uninitiated. It's not even something you can apply the "all you need is mspaint" analogy too, using it is like trying to make art with Microsoft Word 97's 3D text.

AutoCAD is decent, although I don't do that much modeling. I get it for free through my university, and it's capable enough. It'll do solid modeling, and surface modeling rather well.

Looking at all of the games I own on Steam, pondering the amount of money I spent on them and realizing I will most probably end up not being able to play all of them in my life time... :/

Is Warframe's premium currency worth buying with real money?

It depends on what you want to do with it. Platinum is almost never outright required for you to progress in the game. Mostly you can use it to skip the waiting times when you're constructing things in the foundry or in your clan dojo, but the bigger use for it is to buy a prebuilt weapon or frame without needing to grind for the materials and blueprints. Weapons and frames bought with platinum also come upgraded out of the box, with a Catalyst or a Reactor installed from the start, and also come with an extra inventory slot to hold them (which you'd ordinarily have to buy separately).undead003 wrote:Is Warframe's premium currency worth buying with real money?
That said, there are very few things that can only be bought with platinum. Check the warframe wiki to find out where the parts are dropped if you're considering just grinding for the pieces.

That reminds me, I got Gun disassembly 2 for IOS, It's in-ap purchasable (as of today, it's $49.99), it unlocks all current and future weapons and I got it for free!undead003 wrote:Is Warframe's premium currency worth buying with real money?
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Warframe blueprint components are found in level 10 and upward-zones, right? That takes way too much time. I've spent a considerable amount playing it, and I'm still only halfway to level 2.wildweasel wrote:informative contentundead003 wrote:Is Warframe's premium currency worth buying with real money?
I am very tempted to ask my mother to buy platinum for me in the future.
Nonetheless, I convinced a real life friend to start playing Warframe (His laptop couldn't run Morrowind with a graphics injector + resolution fix and hesitated, until a set of events led him to download it and see bare lag at all)

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Keep in mind that Warframe has many wildly different scales for what a "level" actually means. While I have two Warframes and several weapons maxed out to Level 30 and upgraded with cards and reactors, my actual Tenno Rank is still only Level 4, and I can only comfortably solo missions that are marked as level 10-13.
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Tenno Rank is what I was speaking of. I believe 1 is Silver Initiate.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
There's a difference between the rank you have at the very top of the screen when you're viewing all the systems, that being your account rank, and the ranking your current warframe and weapons have. Levelling those up to the max gives you bonus experience towards your account rank and believe me, it can take a while.. and the challenges you get for every bit of new level to your account can become increasingly dumber. Warframe is cool but god damn does it feel repetitive as shit sometimes.

I have done it again. In case you don't understand he said "Marines, we have failed this mission."

These are killer radio operator voices. Do a whole bunch of them with a dedicated thread for the resource if you're able.

some new songs:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/bb9 ... 202%29.mp3 a render of my song, Drivin' a Plucked String, using the Arachno soundfont. it came out... okay.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/822 ... 20Bats.mp3 new track, psuedo-remix of Mark Klem's song Night Bats, hence the name Sea Bats.
