Does anyone have converted System Shock 2 models into MD2? That could be interesting to use in the future.

Yes, something like that is pretty much exactly what I had in mind.Sgt. Shivers wrote:Something like this?

What's the best way to convert an image like that to a palette?
[edit] Nevermind, I got it. Thanks Slade. The final result is more overpoweringly orange/yellow than I hoped it might be but that's more a function of what I asked for and an inherent "fault" of this particular style than with the palette itself I suspect.
Doesn't look too bad in a scene with pleny of blue

but less good when there is little or no blue

You know, I'm honestly not sure. It's very bluey-green in some places.

I suspect, when it comes down to it, such a palette will only work really well with graphics and maps designed specifically with it in mind. It's also the kind of relatively extreme palette change that might be most useful if it was possible to have level-by-level palettes in MAPINFO.
I'm intrigued as to why your second image was the usual way around but the first was reversed left to right versus the usual palette arrangement?

Dunno, probably just image editor weirdness. The pallete seems to work okay on levels like wolfenstein, where the textures go from blue to brown often.

On quite a different tack, I think a Sin-City-like grey-with-red palette looks quite nice if the Doom blues are also included:

Wonder how tricky it would be to rip audio from a MAME rom.
These sounds would do a world of good.

of course early 90's taito games has a clean also decent sounds, either konami games too. anyway the one thing what i know about getting these sfx from it's rom without ripping, get the mame and that rom file and find the way how to turn on the service mode from it's rom. and find the sound test, and record it.
i'd love to record these sfxs, but mame cause the BSoD at my computer.

...ehhh, the extinguisher still needs to be polished (I was planning to go with the frontal look of it) plus it needs more frames (i.e. "spraying", for the attack sequence) so it's far from being finished
Re: Resource Request thread *Read 1st post*
That's great stuff anyway, very much appreciated!

I also should have really contrasted the bottle part, looks really weird and smooth.IMX wrote:...ehhh, the extinguisher still needs to be polished (I was planning to go with the frontal look of it) plus it needs more frames (i.e. "spraying", for the attack sequence) so it's far from being finished

Can someone please replicate the native attacks for the fighter's gauntlets in Hexen? I want to make an alternative fighter gauntlet that causes more damage of a different type.
