Finally working this Russian Overkill cross-IWAD patch again. Rebuilt it from the ground up, and now things work considerably differently. Due to Strife being hub-based, you hardly ever find a weapon drop more than once, save for the Assault Gun & Crossbow. Run a weapon randomizer over that, and you'll never see most of the weapons. So, how I've rigged it is, all weapon shops sell all the weapons. However, you can't just go buying powerful weapons right away; the vendor will only sell you a weapon if you've already found at least one weapon from that slot. So, you can't go buying Slot 8 superweapons early on, even if you've got the cash.
As for the stamina and accuracy upgrade vendors, I'll probably have the former give you health or something for every token you give him, and have the latter sell you one of those 'destructive devices' or a powerup for every token you give him. That way, buying those things eats into money you could be spending on weapons and armor and so forth, and so the player must decide what is more valuable to them at the moment.

...That also means I can take the rather complicated DECORATE and USDF code used to make that work in Strife, and port it to the Hexen patch and have buyable weapons there too, because laziness!

Some really amazing art in this thread, sorry to polute it. 
So this is what I'm working on:

So this is what I'm working on:
Spoiler:If you want a high concept tagline, picture Silent Hill in Deadspace with Fairies (as in fae). I'll do a proper project thread for it when I have more to show, but I'm still in the process of rough blocking the first level. I'm currently about 40% with this level and still have to get a handle on mapping. This took me about 6 hours and I'm still not completely satisfied, but I'll get there.
