I saw this earlier, and was wondering about this feature. I could think of a few cool things that could be done by replacing the colourmap on a level specific basis, but would be pretty bummed if this feature was changed to act like a fadeto line, as a simple fade would not be able to do what I had planned to use this for. Is there much to worry about with this feature changing? From the wiki wrote:FadeTable = "<colormap>"
Included for Hexen compatibility and should not be used by custom maps. Right now, it does what it's supposed to (specify a default colormap to use instead of the regular COLORMAP lump), but in the future it will probably just act like a fadeto line.

Re: The WIP Thread
DONE.
Spoiler:EDIT: Just globalized ALL the map scripts, changed my workflow to make things smoother, and moved to GZdoom Builder. I had no idea what I was missing out on. So much faster and full of improvements.

Re: The WIP Thread
almost same and closer enough for arm cannon's graphic! and sorry for some argument, why it's got three death frames? because they explode and dies?
Re: The WIP Thread
No problem.
You guessed correctly, yes. After the third frame it explodes like other enemies. I played with having no death frames like the other enemies as well as a full death animation (As you can see by the empty area) but eventually settled in the middle.

Re: The WIP Thread
That enemy looks like something out of Marathon, Scripten, it looks awesome!

Re: The WIP Thread
I am in envy of Scripten. That is a fine sprite.
Playing with custom a fadetable for hexen. It still feels like fog, but it doesn't obscure everything like normal fog does (it is sort of a "fade to sepia" effect). Too bad this effect can't be reproduced in gzdoom.
instead of fading to a colour, it fades the hue and saturation, but leaves the value (mostly) alone. This lets it look like fog, but not make everything an ugly silhouette when it's far away.

Nice. This feature actually exists in vanilla Hexen, it just never got used beyond the fog map (you can add a few more animated textures in vanilla too, but it's capped so that you only have space for two or three more animations as I recall.)zrrion the insect wrote:Playing with custom a fadetable for hexen.
