Mouse slowed down. Incredibly confused.

Post by darbyjack »

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well.

I am using GZdoom 1.8.2 and I noticed recently that the mouse has become unresponsive, sluggish and slow. I need to move the mouse several times to do a 360 turn and it feels a bit unresponsive, almost as if there's a tiny delay for it to speed up. Moving mouse horizontally vs vertically doesn't seem to be at the same speed either. Bit hard to describe.

Funny thing is, I didn't change any settings or modify game content. I even made a new folder and reinstalled that version of Zdoom and it was still the same. It can be slightly rectified by increasing mouse sensitivity and turn speed, but still doesn't feel the same.

I was doubting my sanity for a moment, thinking it was all in my head... But then I realised I made this video and the mouse seems very sensitive there.

(Yes, I know you all hate this mod)

I haven't changed any mouse settings in Windows... Hasn't been updated or even restarted in a little while (to the best of my knowledge)... I'm a bit confused now. What on Earth happened? :?

Does it happen in windows or other games? If it does it could be that your mouse is dying

Just Doom, otherwise I'd be posting in a Windows support forum :)
