(WIP) Echoes of Hell. (05/01/14 update: New Alpha Demo)

(WIP) Echoes of Hell. (05/01/14 update: New Alpha Demo)

Hello fellow Doomers. I am working on a WAD with the name "Echoes of Hell". I am thinking up more ideas as I go along, at the moment it is gonna be a "open world" but using a hub like system so you can go back to previous areas. This is my first megawad I am working on, so suggestions are welcome. This mod is for GZDoom.

Planned stuff so far:
Gauntlet mode, a mode where you go into a Smash T.V like area, and try and find the exit, or kill all the monsters.
Side missions.
Alternate versions of some areas on another mode.

I haven't got anything demolike at this minute, but for the time being, enjoy a few screenies.

Let me know on bugs/suggestions etc. Some areas are incomplete, but will work on them.

So many grating and black lines on white surfaces make my eyes hurt. You should really consider looking for a better texture options =\

What would you say is a better texture?

Certain textures are not good for making huge walls. The metallic ones fall into this category. They are, however, pretty good at "breaking up" big walls, making an otherwise bland room look more interesting. Keep the support structures in the hangar screenshot, for example, the same and replace the texture on the walls themselves with something else, a contrasting color, something darker maybe. I'm sure you'll notice the improvement immediately.

Take everything I've said with a grain of salt, though, as I'm certainly not a mapper. :P

Thanks for the feedback Twinkieman93, I'll defintetely have a little experiment around with the main hangar, will post a pic up if I believe it'll look better.

Better, but I'd go with an even darker color than that.

Eh... I was thinking darker to the point of being not gray. Lots of gray, is what I'm trying to get across. :P

I can't think of any textures that'll suffice for a hangar, I'm considering changing the floor however.

Excellent, glad it's an improvement, still looks a bit like a hangar as well, so that's sorted, any other suggestions Twinkie?

Hm... the stairs could use railings. OSHA would have a field day with this place.

They'd be glad that gravity at least works in the space station. :P And here are the railings. Not the best, but meh.
