I've TRIED. But have you seen my stuff? It's awful. Terrible. The best work I have is a few simple sprite edits. And I'm not going to get better with practice. This isn't something I started recently; I've done stuff like this for a while. But its hopeless- everything ends up like what came before it, a failure.

Edit: I don't want to derail the thread with any more pathetic sob stories, so I wont respond to many more posts like this.

My first project was a .bex file that did nothing but make every weapon more powerful in some way- chainsaw became a rifle, pistol and chaingun became railguns, shotgun and supershotty became rapidfire monsters, and you get the idea. I didn't even replace graphics- TDA did that for me.

You're not gong to get better with mindless practice. You're going to get better when others critique your work and you listen to it and do things differently.

BTW I still have trouble makng large decorative builds in Minecraft. Details that make a building stand out don't come easy to me. But I'll squeeze that ME system in there somewhere.

I BEG TO DIFFER. well, your first attempt; half-life 2 pistol was bit awkward, though. but after that, you were really getting much better and better. specially cacodemon's alternate deaths and skinned it alive, that was really best. also i approve your 'failure' sprites are good looking for you're not suck at it.

and what about me? just a boring sprite fixing and simple MSpaint sprite works.

How long have you been spriting? I'm still pretty bad and I'm both lucky to be a fast learner and have a great toolchain - and I've been at it for soon three years.
It takes a gruelingly long time to actually "get good", and before that it's about learning to not drop things that look awful.

Installed my SSD. Its amazing, I can boot into windows in 27 seconds including POST and OS selection. fingers crossed it lasts a long time

Don't tell me the sprites are bad. They're not. The sprites in your avatar, for example, are awesome! That is talent. You're being a perfectionist, and you should talk to your counselor about it. I know, I was one too, and I still can be sometimes. (Please tell me you're talking to a counselor). Also, don't set expectations of yourself too high. That will only make you angrier if you don't make them. Start slow.

unfair: i paid a whole 1.30 or so more euro to get it D:
(i don't know if it's good but i've heard far more positive things about it than the ROTT reboot, so i guess it is worth it)

Unless you constantly write and rewrite to it, it should last a while. How big (storage-wise) is it?
