The past is long gone if that's what you are trying to say. At least our leaders have learned one lesson and made sure that no government can ever hijack the media for its evil purposes again. In America that seems to be a common problem - even though it's probably the media's own fault to a large extent. But then, our government is not trying to keep its own population dumb on purpose...

To misquote Bush, misquoting...
If Bush cheats to get elected once, shame on Bush.
If America elects him again, shame on America.
I cannot understand why so many Americans voted for him. What do they see that the rest of the world doesn't? IMO Bush is one of the most dangerous, destabilising leaders there has been in recent history. It is plain to see that he is a very stupid, ignorant, closed minded bigot. I consider him a genuinely evil man who is responsible for thousands of deaths and destabilising the world. Because of him, the world is a less safe place to be. He has ridden rough-shod over international laws, treaties and agreements (and our foolish lapdog, Tony, has followed) and gotten away with it. He is probably the most internationally hated American leader ever. Kerry may not have been much of a choice, but he did have one outstanding advantage - he wasn't Bush. America and the American people have gone way down in my estimation as a result of this election. Shame on you America. Shame on you.

Oh no, I've been sucked in!
Aww, crap I've been sucked in...
The election was not rigged, I now lots of people who voted for Bush, because they believe Kerry is just as big of an idiot as Bush (or bigger).
By the way, Bush did not cheat to get elected the first time; he won fair and square because Al Gore conceded (and that was his own damn fault) before the recounts were completed.
The Democrats were such a hurry to come up with an opposing candidate, they fished up possibly the worst candidate during the primaries.
I know I don't want Bush for president, but I consider him better than the alternative (even though he is in the pockets of big companies (deeeeeep in their pockets), has a vendetta against Iraq (he must finish daddy's war), and known for possible shady business practices).
If it wasn't him stupidly jumping head first into war without checking all the facts first and going in alone save for the Brits, I would honestly be behind him...
Kerry isn't a prize pig himself (Has a huge vendetta against the US military (check out his earlier books), Manages to change his view on subjects frequently for the only reason to bag himself votes (My favorite is when Kerry picks Edwards to be his running mate, and Edwards accepts; but earlier Edwards called Kerry a crook during the primaries) (Or saying he is on the side of American hunters (very early campaign footage of Kerry going hunting with a shotgun), but then turns around and says he wants to tax all guns and ammo and would support any weapon ban that comes his way)).
I simply don't like his policies he had planned for this country, and his policy for running away from Iraq is wrong, I know going in the first place was foolish and incredibly stupid, but leaving without finishing the job would be a much bigger mistake.
That and the politicians or government don't control the media in what they say, the owners to the media companies do (that happen to have a political agenda). Which is just as bad, but just nitpicking. Check out The Jim Lehrer news hour, NPR, or BBC World News American edition, if you want less biased news in the USA. Or pick up a SW radio and listen to Radio Cuba, North Korea, or most Arabic stations if what you really want is Anti-U.S. news.
In actuality, the media in the U.S. was largely neutral about the campaign (if anything a lean towards Kerry), CBS news and FOX news being the exceptions.
CBS and Dan Rather flaunting faked documents fiasco on the Democrat side, and then
FOX NEWSs Bill O'rilley, now a confirmed sex pervert, on the Republican side.
<Edit>
From most of the people I know it pretty much is summed up like this:
The OMG Bush is mentally [censored word] group; lets vote for the other guy, whoever that is, he just has to be better
The Unfortunatley Kerry sucks more than Bush group
The actually like Bush group
The actually like Kerry group
Who cares we are majorly screwed either way group(non voters)
The main reason Bush won was because most Americans dont give a flying f*** about other countries (some kind of egotistical USA is the center of the universe, nothing else matters idea that is quite rampant over here). Unfortunately Bushs stupid Foreign policies are the only good/important reason to kick him out, besides his relationship with big companies. Most of the other reasons that came up to get rid of him, was either beyond Bushs direct control (Economy), Kerry personally voted for it himself in the Senate (invading Iraq, Bush's tax cut plan), or Kerry couldnt come up with a better plan (health care).

My thoughts exactly. Maybe it was just part of the big conspiracy to keep Bush...

Agreed. Some people say that they are glad "Fanny" is re-elected because he is a stronger commander-in-chief. BULLSHIT!!!! Bush has done bugger-all commanding during the "War" in Iraq and there is little doubt that he will attack somewhere else now, his ego boosted by this victory. Also, some states voted him in because he is against Gay Marriage. so it is indeed a shame on America.Enjay wrote:Shame on you America. Shame on you.
Stop the blindness. There's differences between Bush for the States and Bush for the rest of the world. Many people elected him cos he was gonna reduce taxations, privatize social security and get strong on illegal immigration, not only because he wasn't going to stop war. It takes some talent to keep and economy going after a terrorist attack and hell, he succeeded, no doubt he did and that's because he fucked Al-Qaeda, Saddam and somehow decreased (for a while) the menace of another attack, he's also put his sticky fingers on an important amount of oil which wasn't possibly planned when he started off as a president. Picture this: WTC is attacked with Kerry heading the country, then he says he's not gonna strike back. What could have happened?, national pandemonium for sure.
