Re: SLADE v3.1.0 Beta 1 Released - first post updated
It looks like you have SFML 1.6 installed instead of 2.0. If you look here there are instructions on how to add a repository for SFML 2 (if using debian/ubuntu/etc). If not you'll have to compile+install SFML 2 yourself.

When I try to open my project with this new beta, Slade freezes, as well as choking my system to a near-halt until I kill it with Task Manager. No error reports are generated, naturally, since it doesn't even get a chance to crash before it hangs.

I have a question, just out of curiosity, why did you choose wxwidgets? Does it have features that GTK+ doesn't have?

Because it's the only half decent cross-platform UI library I could find. Gtk is pretty bad in windows - it requires extra libraries to be installed and doesn't really have a native look.cq75 wrote:I have a question, just out of curiosity, why did you choose wxwidgets? Does it happen with any archive, or just your project? If the latter, I think the only way to figure out what is happening here is to look at the project wad/pk3 myself (if you could pm me a link or something?)Ed the Bat wrote:When I try to open my project with this new beta, Slade freezes, as well as choking my system to a near-halt until I kill it with Task Manager. I've only tried it with mine so far. I'm sorry to say I'm not prepared to share it yet (which I understand is a major hindrance in troubleshooting), but I can say a couple of things I think will be relevant...sirjuddington wrote:Does it happen with any archive, or just your project? Firstly, my project is made of many individual packages (it's meant to be fully modular for the end-user), so it may simply be an issue of raw quantity; this beta can't reliably handle so many individual files simultaneously. However, SLADE 3.0.2 was fully capable of loading all of these files without crashing. As things stand now, I'm foreseeing myself continuing to use the old version because of this.

Why? It's not like he's going to distribute it or something...Ed the Bat wrote:I'm sorry to say I'm not prepared to share it yet (which I understand is a major hindrance in troubleshooting), [...]
Re: GZDoom Builder 1.14
Somebody knows why Slade3, sometimes, render sprites in black/white?

Re: GZDoom Builder 1.14
Maybe you have the "Greyscale" pallette selected?
Also, you posted this in the GZDoom Builder thread.

Just a quick question:
Why isn't the latest Slade3 uploaded here?

That's where Gez uploaded his SVN builds.cocka wrote:..... Why isn't the latest Slade3 uploaded here?![]()
Official releases usually came/come through the Slade 3 website.

I can't open SLADE3, it says that I need the archive MSVCR110.dll, but I already have it

Which one?Gothic wrote:I can't open SLADE3, ....
the SVN version r1422 requires the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Runtimes to run
the official version 3.0.2 requires the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Runtimes to run
the official version 3.1.0 Beta 1 requires the Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Runtimes to run
maybe so, but do you have the runtimes specific to the Slade3 version?Gothic wrote:.... it says that I need the archive MSVCR110.dll, but I already have it

SLADE3 will default to a greyscale palette if the palette is set to global], there's no palette in the loaded and there's no base resource archive set. Set up a base resource archive (I.E Doom2.wad) in the Editor menu.
