Maybe use "wait" instead of "goto See"?

This wouldn't change anything.

Let's call that state RANDOMGUYSEE.

Goto see means "goto the state right after the See: label", so it translates to goto RANDOMGUYSEE.

Wait means "goto last state you were in", so it translates to goto RANDOMGUYSEE.

There is absolutely no difference this change would make. The real fix is the 1-tic state duration. It will not change behavior because action functions are executed immediately when entering the state, so any state having an A_Jump effectively has a duration of 0 tics.

Okay so... I WAS gonna make Beyond Reality 2 but I lost interest, instead I'll be revamping this.

V1.3 Changes:

 - Removed the Eradicator, I found him rather annoying and he wasn't really that strange compared to the other monsters.
 - The barrel men now have footstep sounds
 - The plasma elemental's plasma has been slightly nerfed
 - The fire jets and ice jets no longer use A_Jump, so now they're more predictable.
 - The ice jets shoot faster than the fire jets, since they do little damage.
 - Removed the new shotgun sound
 - Facebots have a new death sound
 - The emerald world will be darker and less green, the outdoor areas especially felt a bit eyesore-ish in my opinion.
 - Map05's music is changed
 - Map06 no longer has the lava polyobjects room.
 - Map07 is less confusing.

Y'know, a heap of people would love to see a Beyond Reality 2. Why not get some other mappers in on the action? I know this wad is your own personal project, but there's nothing wrong with mapping variety and it takes some of the weight off your shoulders. Also, I've got plenty of mental ideas. :P

You probably don't even realize how much I appreciate this. Setslot (and the problems it causes) is sort of a white whale for me. When I saw you were going back to revise this mod, I figured it might be a chance for me to ask about fixing this. Thanks! :)

HI THERE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!
Here's a few things I decided to tweak.

Difficulty changes
There's been mixed reactions on how difficult it was, some said it was too hard, some said it was too easy, and some say it's just right.
So here's what I'm going to do, ITYTD and HNTR will be easier, HMP will be tweaked a bit, UV and NM will be much harder.

Monster changes

The living shish kebab will only have one attack.
  • In my opinion, his attacks were lazily done, all of them are pretty much the same thing but with different projectiles. Not to mention the living shish kebab is a normal non-boss enemy, who really only need 1 or 2 attacks.
The living shish kebab's heal state is longer
  • Now it's easier to hit this guy.
The revenant now shoots ghostly projectiles
  • Only a visual change, it's still the revenant rocket.
Doomguy heads will only use godmode attack when below 75% health
  • yey.

Glad to hear you've been giving this another pass. I liked the idea of Beyond Reality but the execution didn't entirely gel with me. In particular, the "Make the monsters more interesting and less annoying" and "Make the levels and monsters much stranger" have me interested in seeing where this is going.

As far as difficulty goes, I'll say that some of the latter levels were frustrating from pistol start, and I hope you take that in account when tweaking UV's difficulty. I'd hate to see previous gameplay amped up to 11 because of people rolling through with carryover loadouts, not that I really know what anyone else found easy about it.

HOLY SHIT I'M ACTUALLY MAKING SOME PROGRESS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA yeh

So here's the deal folkadoodles, making a sequel that can run by itself, or you can run both beyond reality and the sequel at the same time, so you can play it all in one sitting on a zandronum server.
I'm also going to be doing some updates to the original mod, so v1.4 will be coming soon. Because surprise surprise I need to fix some mistakes, like did you know that in map04 there's a door that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? And it took me THREE years to notice it despite being in plain sight? weeeeeee!
Anywho, the sequel will include just as many maps as the original and a whole new slew of enemies.
FOR WHAT MAY MR BEYOND REALITY GUY (or fuck it just call him andrew) VENTURE INTO THIS TIME?
