Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
my brother didn't want the vinyl records he had in his room, because he never really used them. so he sold them off to me, for 34 bucks. 23 vinyls, 2 vinyl singles, and 1 triple CD collection. i'd say it was a pretty good deal.

Sorting out my wish list on Steam to remove the pricey cost.
Also got an old headset I found here.
In good condition, surprisingly.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
considering joining some kind of music-related forum so i can get some brutally honest feedback about what i produce. the problem is finding such a forum, because well, there's TONS of them. i don't know what to choose.
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
PVM: You find the forum that houses the genre of music you are doing. You aren't going to get useful feedback posting your music on a forum full of metal producers, for example.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
that's true. but, what would i search for then? sofar i've only really done stuff in things like Famitracker and FL Studio, so do i join forums that are about those particular pieces of software? furthermore, i've done a bunch of songs in pure MIDI output in FL Studio, as well as some sample-based tracks. would an FL Studio-related forum still be of help in both of those regards?

Discovering that the map editor has finally been added back into SLADE while I wasn't looking... yesss, this bears further investigation...

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Since you use FL a lot, a good start would definitely be the FL forums. I'm sure they have a "crit my mix" section.Viscra Maelstrom wrote:that's true. but, what would i search for then? sofar i've only really done stuff in things like Famitracker and FL Studio, so do i join forums that are about those particular pieces of software? furthermore, i've done a bunch of songs in pure MIDI output in FL Studio, as well as some sample-based tracks. would an FL Studio-related forum still be of help in both of those regards?
Alternatively, these 2 places are good for generic advice as well. Beware, the latter has more semi-pro and even pro (as in, people working in the commercial music industry; high tier stuff) users so that might be intimidating at first and you're subject to more harsh crticism (or none at all if no one's impressed)... but not everyone will bite you, there are nice people there too. Take what you will of it. :D
I personally had some help from HomeRecording when I was starting out 10 years ago. I only lurk at GearSlutz; I never post, silently absorbing any information I can find.
