Ah, cool, I figured it out, it was the HUD size in the options menu, I had to notch the slider down 1 tick.

The only thing i DON'T like is the skull, instead of Doomguy's face.

Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
Two things would make this custom hud perfect:
-Actual numbers for the health, armor, and ammo counters.
-Have the doomguy's face where the skull icon currently is.
I really enjoy the concept for this custom hud, making it look like you're actually looking out of a helmet visor. Just a couple changes and this would be my custom hud of choice

Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
Why does Doomguy need to see and watch his own face?
Unless he's like Johnny Bravo. "Man, that guy's pretty."

Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
Says the guy with the Doomguy's face as his avatar.

Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
I think it's more for the player's use. The status bar face is what tells you where you're being shot from and I feel a little naked whenever I play using a hud that lacks the status bar face. Why does Doomguy need to see and watch his own face?Unless he's like Johnny Bravo. Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
Having the weapon numbers would be great too, for reference at least. I don't really like playing with the alternative HUD off because I don't have a good idea of what other weapons and ammo I have at the moment.
Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
I'd like to get back into the flow of things here sometime soon, so I'll see what i can do with some of the feedback I've gotten.
If there's anybody around who's good with Decorate, I'd certainly appreciate the help with some of the features that have been suggested here: I shouldn't have much trouble doing the graphics for this stuff.
On a side-note, I'm a little surprised people still care much for this hud with some of the cool stuff I've seen around here lately - but if people still want it I'm happy to keep working on it, though i'll probably still be a bit sporadic until my schedules clears up.

Does it work on 4:3 resolutions?

Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
It works if you split up the corners into their own graphics along with the top segment. Then, you basically just rely entirely on fullscreenoffsets. Bam, support for all resolutions.
Of course, you'll have to tweak the top border if you want it to appear fine..

Re: Doomguy Visor Hud
Yeah, that's something to consider. I just finished making a 4:3-sized version of the borders though - it's just a matter of tweaking the variables for the other hud parts to compensate.Ryan Cordell wrote:It works if you split up the corners into their own graphics along with the top segment.
