The Still New What Did You Last Do Thread

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Oh I see. Oh well. :D But that's still interesting nonetheless. So this tool is able to dump WAD/UDMF maps into an OBJ mesh? Interesting.
What about... the other way round? Polygonal meshes into UDMF maps? ;D

I imagine that thing doesn't/won't play well with portals.

Whoa, convert .obj to .dae and upload to SL?! Suddenly, Doom Levels. Or more specifically, why not upload the MM8BDM levels with permission?MaxED wrote:Sorry, it's just a test of Wavefront .obj exporter I'm developing...Nash wrote:........ please tell me this is a gzdoom source mod plz plz plz plz

That's not such a good idea (creating geometry in a 3D modeling package takes (much) more time than in map editor). Especially for sector-based map format (waaaay to many restrictions).Nash wrote:What about... the other way round? Polygonal meshes into UDMF maps? ;D
Blender can export geometry to Quake 3 map format, but how many people are actually using Blender as a Quake 3 map editor?

Awesome work, Project Dark Fox. However, I do have a number of (minor) complaints; the explosion could use some polishing. It looks too smooth, and too clean and sharp around the edges. If anything, it looks more like a giant exploding ball of mutated caramel rather than an explosion. There's not even a trace of smoke to be seen. And the lasers along with the muzzle flashes could use a natural-looking glow effect, if you will. But otherwise, outstanding work!Project Dark Fox wrote:Finished my Marauder 'Mech. In other news, I just finished a play-through of Classic Doom 3. If you have a copy of Doom 3 and haven't tried it, then try it now.

I downloaded a virus onto my computer and I'm not the admin.
This is a really bad day for me.

You not being an admin is a good thing actually, because then it's unlikely that it can root itself deeply.

So I just found out that GOG have put up Blade of Darkness (released as Severance: Blade of Darkness here in the UK) over at there on-line store. If you're bored and/or want a new game to play, for the love of God buy Blade of Darkness as it's one of the best games that I've ever played and the game really deserves more attention than it originally got.

Thanks for the alert, I've been meaning to try this one. Bought, along with Eador: Genesis since it was on sale and sounded interesting.BoldEnglishman wrote:So I just found out that GOG have put up Blade of Darkness (released as Severance: Blade of Darkness here in the UK) over at there on-line store. Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Went through a Doom 1 megawad playing some Doomvengers. I was necrosuit for the first ep and ran possesso for the second, buddy was playing Freerunner. I suggested he switch to Style Guy so he doesn't have to worry about ammo.
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Why would I try a mod that has balance issues when Doom 1 is better at being Doom 1?Ctrl+Alt+Destroy wrote:In other news, I just finished a play-through of Classic Doom 3. If you have a copy of Doom 3 and haven't tried it, then in the name of all that is holy, try it now.
