Doomgirl Skin (based on my Crash skin)

@Virtue
Of course, don't throw away the body suit just yet. You might get requests for such shapes, lol.
e.g. A staple standard of cloth variation (b/c the sprite may be deemed as a base for default female doomplayer skins).

Seconded. You've managed to put enough detail on the chest without it looking particularly "booby". Excellent job. It's a good sprite in its own right and a much needed good quality female marine. :thumb:

If I was to be really picky, and I'm about to be, I think the blood on her boots in the first frame of so of the gib death look a bit wrong. It gives the slight impression that she has borrowed her feet and shins from a shotgun sergeant. Like I said, picky. ;)

Heh, it's not your day. It's now named wrong - FLA2G2G8 instead of FPL2G2G8.

Pretty easy fix, so no rush to reupload.

I think its the fact that Im working with a 38x57 pixel sprite, and conveying femininity is hard to do, especially since she wears a helmet. I have no problem in cladding her in "realistic" marine armour, as I've already posted a full chestplated version that very much downplays her boobs.

I guess I dont want to be a sprite artist responsible for fanservice.

As an experiment on how subtlety could be achieved when conveying that someone is a girl while wearing full armor and a helmet, I whipped this up:
Image
I'm no sprite artist, but seriously, why would her helmet be different?

I altered the slope of the shoulders, and brought in the arm and the leg 1 pixel. I removed a total of two pixels from each hand. The boot is only subtly different because it's just a smaller size of the exact same boot, and the part of the the utility belt thing that is normally at waist level isn't as visible here because it's sitting on a different curve, as it were. Doomguy's stockier, whereas Doomgal's subtly different waist means it sits in and back more.

"But Veeentriiiiiis, I can't tell she's a girlololol from more than 15 feet! Well she's wearin' a helmet, dude." It's not the military's job to make sure you can tell if someone has boobs. I might try a female Zombie...person next just to experiment with head shape and face alterations.

Military training gives a person a certain body type (ie fit but suited to all-round activity (running, walking, carrying stuff etc) and not specialist fitness like most sports people). Combine that with a unisex uniform, armour and a "one look suits all" helmet and I think what you have produced is a fair enough representation; subtle but still female if you take the time to look. I suspect that you don't fancy doing it but I think a set of sprites like that would be very nice to have.

Considering how little effort it took, all told (a few minutes in Paint), I could have a go at it.
