Any good axe weapon sprites out there?

Post by Unholypimpin »

I'm looking for a nice axe sprite for a hexen wad that I am making. Ill even settle for a nice sprite edit of the actual hexen axe too.

If anyone knows of any please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

It's me again, I know... there was this hatchet-looking sprite that looked way different from standard HeXen fare somewhere on here....

Not the hatchet, but Neoworm has some interesting stuff that could be used in the project.... as does Eriance!
Trident and Ophidian Staff respectively.

There was a nice Hexen II axe model rip. Pretty much ready for use.

Problem is, it randomly shrinks in the second swing frame. :(

It also extends a bit, since the hilt's skull should be visible.

Have a re-rip. It could probably still use a little adjustment, but it's already a lot better than the old one. (This was done by actually extracting and manipulating the model instead of just in-game screencaps. Kind of a pain, but able to get angles that match the hand.)

I might want to touch it up a bit later, but opinions on whether the perspective is good enough should come first.

Hmm, I wonder if an edit could be doable to make a throwable version of the Undead Warrior's axe. I always thought that'd be a neat weapon to be able to use.
