Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
We should officially declare "Duke" as an adjective..+:icytux:+. wrote:The blood splat does look very duke, was it based on something duke?
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Well, if we have "Doomish" and here on Zdoom "no" is a verb, thats no problem!
___
BTW, nice doomish Terminator concept.

There is so many different color shades and color changes in such an inconsistent way that it's making my eyes hurt. I think you need to try a lot harder at doing some sprite editing, because it looks like you have more of a mummy (with bad shading) than an actual endoskeleton.

Maybe get an endoskeleton action figure and use that as a frame of reference?Project Dark Fox wrote:There is so many different color shades and color changes in such an inconsistent way that it's making my eyes hurt. Would this do? I found it a few months ago on the same forum.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Yes, I have that too and its great, but they are two problems with it.
1, Its larger than my Arnold Terminator sprite, which is based on the Zombie from Doom.
2, Its proportionals are a bit odd. The legs are too small and the arms are too long. The skull is also proportionally quite big.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I'm sorry but it just looks like what it is - a Heretic mummy that has been filtered to recolour it and give it harsh contrast between the light and dark bits. It still looks like a mummy - perhaps even more than it did originally. It reminds me of this:Hornetzero wrote:EDIT: Another attempt at the Terminator endoskeleton base:

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Golems aren't mummies, dummy.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Tell that to the name they use in the code.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Also if you look very closely at the sprites you can tell they were initially supposed to be wrapped in bandages. It's especially apparent in the death frames, where you can see the individual wraps.
Not to mention the SHRDx0 sprites.
