Weapon mods that mesh well with themes?
Like, take for example, ww-nazis fits super well with EPIC 2. Any other good combos to fit the mood? Like say, something that'd fit unloved, or anything else. Just a good combination of level set with weapon mod to make that set seem like it got that extra push of radness

Not to toot my own horn, but ww-terror goes really well with TVR!, Equinox, and nearly any city-themed map.

The only map that genuinely works with my Lizard Squad mod is the Lego Base mod by Russell Pearson. Just make sure you load the Lego Base mod BEFORE you load my mod, otherwise you'll end up getting Lego bad guys instead of the Lizard bad guys.

There was a thread similar to this a while ago. You might wanna check it out.

Well, he did say themes rather than specific wad combos...
With that in mind: Hideous Destructor + anything (or at least anything compatible with a monster+weapon mod) that tries hard to resemble or structurally simulate a real-world built-up environment. Basically whatever also works with Weasel's Terror mod.
Also anything that sets up a really large, snipe-friendly complex area where you're often engaging people in other buildings or trying to cross uncertain no-man's-lands, e.g. canon D2 Industrial Zone or Marine Doom with the DEHACKED and weapon sprites removed.
In other news, Freedoom works very well with Lizard Squad.

from the other topic:
Some not entirely applicable. BD+MM2, though. Mm-mm good.Ethril wrote:AEons of Death + Invasion UAC
Brutal Doom + Memento Mori II (seriously they just fit together so well)
Psychic + Strife (It's actually not boring! Okay yeah I know vanilla Strife picks up the pace later on but the early game is usually such a chore)
Russian Overkill + Hell Revealed 2 (or any extreme slaughtermap megawad, really. Actually, I kind of prefer Scythe.)
(Also: Russian Overkill + Nuts.wad, just for the lulz)
Zharkov goes to the Store + Mock 2 (don't actually do this. i will not be held liable for anything catastrophic that occurs if you actually do so.)
