Honestly the reason I liked the T3's was because of the timer, because it allows you to throw it into a particularly crowded room and have time to back out before the explosion. I mainly use the grenades for crowd control, where being able to throw them around corners and get out of bad situations is kind of important.

If I need to fight a boss, I usually have a grenade launcher by that point, so having two types of instant explosives feels kind of pointless.

The reason I put molotovs on the highest slot is because you could do much more damage to specific targets when you don't need to wait for the fuse to tick down, meaning you could easily take down any of the four bosses with just one or two of them.
Hmm... I got few ideas, but it is sort of revamp of grenade system.
Instead of just upgrading grenades, how about giving new options? This means grenades are switchable, which makes system bit clunky.
Level zero are your level 1 frag grenades. Quite powerful for start, maybe.
Level one is proximity grenades. (I thought using pipebombs as a remote control bombs, but it makes system more clunky.) You can't throw them, instead, you just stick them to any place. Floor, wall, ceiling, lamp etc. Of course, you can sticky them to enemies, but it is rather dangerous and unwieldy.
Level two, you get molotov and it's abilities in max. This is your direct attack grenade of sorts.
Level three just changes your frags into incendiary grenade. Rebound effect still applies. (Or give flashbang that makes everyone shoot in random directions. Can be quite unwieldy, depending on situation.)

As I said, it can be clunky system, but this makes it bit more flexible, with more options how to go.
But hey, up to you pal. :P

I'd really prefer a system that doesn't involve me adding another control key to the menu - it's bad enough I already have a melee switch button.

why can't you make the grenades "explode on impact if enemy and bounce if wall" to even the problems

(what i mean is: if you really wanted an AOE damage, just throw at enemy. to bounce, throw at wall. not realistic, but effective enough for your problem)

Because it's a glass bottle and would logically break when it hits anything. Maybe I'll figure out some other kind of grenade instead.

I was not referring to the bottle, I was thinking you could make the grenades skull tag (explodes if hits an opponent, bonces if wall) like at level 1-2 and beyond to make it tactically versatile in many situations.

I think we need new type of grenade, yes... How about some nerve gas grenade... Like mustard gas?
Long duration, reasonably large area, it might not kill immediately, but it slows enemies down or stuns them, and makes their aim less accurate. Player gets same effects when exposed to gas (less accuracy is replaced by player going blind similarly like flasher attacks.)

Actually he mentioned on IRC that he'll probably have something similar to an electric flashbang that stuns enemies. A grenade version of the taser, basically.

Yanno, the more I play these mods, like this and nazis, the more I cant help but feel like, somethings missing. Gameplay wise its awesome, but it kinda feels like a recent mario game more than anything. The quality and gameplay is top notch but its missing something that the likes of which diaz had

character(s)? afaik this mod and Nazis! has no really strong characters with any elaborate backstory like Agent Diaz had, thus it can feel a bit like you're playing a random, cardboard-cutout character, rather than playing someone who feels like an actual person. gameplay wise both Terrorists! and Nazis! has Diaz beat by miles length in terms of quality, but the story aspect of Diaz is one of the things that made the mod for me.

Theme contributes to that feel of soul, as does story... is it weak in either of those aspects? I mean I've been meaning to play it just haven't had the time to try everything.
