it isn't: it's the audio information from Giygas Theme going through a spectogram. or well, a remix of Giygas Theme, rather. get the original song and see for yourself if you don't believe me.
edit: welp. i found an MP3 of the original theme song and it doesn't seem to produce the spiral. oh well, whatever.

The fun thing about spectrograms is that you can do the reverse and turn a picture into music. Here is a famous example.
It doesn't necessarily make good music, mind. "Look" sounds like noisy static. But it's perfectly possible to take a spectrogram from a song, photoshop in some effect, and turn that spectrogram back into a song which, depending on how subtle you were, might still sound reasonably like the original.
