Yep, all the base mechanics from full Brutal are here minus the berserker kill animations. Enemies are still more aggressive and hit harder, so if your weapon mod of choice isn't quite up to snuff you might wanna consider tweaking some of the weapon parameters to stay competitive. For example I tweaked the Doom 3 Weapons Reissue mod and made it into a "Doom 2.5 Weapons" set with a faster-firing pistol, reinstating the Super Shotgun (which I got from Realm 667) and taking out the Machinegun and grenades, and increasing the Shotgun, Chaingun and Plasma Rifle clip sizes, not just for vanilla play but also expressly for use with Brutal Lite.

I wonder if there's a way to integrate just the gore effects but not the gameplay changes (save for headshots) into Hideous Destructor.

For anyone having trouble with the Cyberdemon not shooting rockets: make sure you copy and paste the "EXPLOSIVES" file from Brutal Doom proper into Brutal Lite. That includes all the explosives and missile details needed to make everything work properly.

Hmm... looking back, the Lite version really does feel incomplete. Bugs like this plus loads of console errors at the start make it seem like it was just a quick copy+paste.

I'm not really sure how I feel about having the enhanced monsters without the new weaponry, either. Almost sorta defeats the purpose. :P

If you REALLY don't want the headshot bug, then all you have to do is remove the line; "#include HEAD_SYS" in the DECORATE.

Playing that w/ Enjay's Marine Assault wad ( http://doomworld.com/idgames/?id=12214 ) was a devastating (but demoralizing) gameplay experience. It was very awesome. Of course there are errors b/c of the filename, but damn was that crazy. Maybe you can try using the break glass animation in your wad.

Any chance to make zombies drop pistol clips again? I asked b/c I played Dolphin's Dream ( http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=14670 ) and I was owned by the cirus gang. It was very sad indeed. Just look at the spoiler.

Is there any chance of getting this without the enhanced enemy behavior (i.e. plays just like doom but has fancier squishes and everything)?

They say there are no stupid questions, but only stupid people. But I say, can't it be both? Here goes. Im not sure how to use all these separate files being only a simple n00b, I only know .wads and .pk3's. So so i create a folder in gzdoom or what?
