Is there any way the effect choker can eventually revert the wall impacts and beam effects to what they were in the version prior?

I still have no idea why, but the wall impact effects and beam effects make my FPS shudder to a halt. It's really weird, sometimes all it takes is firing a single bullet then it's fine for another 30 seconds.

EDIT: I'll try it with the choker and the new 7z file, maybe that'll help.

Huh... Wasn't there a special Hud? Also, the item icons don't display... This is using the newest 7z file, the data files, and the effect choker.

*sigh* Yes, looks like I forgot to include something else. I've snipped the download link. Give me a little bit and I'll reupload it with the huds intact.

Remember, download it directly into your current AEoD.pk3's directory and DO NOT UNZIP IT.

Then simply modify your launchers so it reads AEoD.7z instead of AEoD.pk3.

That should be it.

Well I've messed around with it some more, apparently the lag I was experiencing long before is really not that bad with the 7z file.

It still pauses, but it's only for a fraction of a second instead of like, six whole seconds.

That's quite an improvement, so maybe it was just a loading issue caused by having less than a gig and a half of RAM.

Thank you very much, Vict! Glad I could help you out in the end too. It was indeed because of such large amounts of entities not getting the compression 7zip would offer compared to PK3. Even I had my mind blown, you are not alone mate. Sure it adds a bit to the boot-up time but that's justifiable when the game lag is far less. ;)

Might help if you say what the error is that you're getting. Odds are your ZDoom version is too old.

"Some decorate error". That's not too helpful.

And perhaps you should've read the very first line of text in the... ahem... README file included with AEoD.
Advanced engine needed : GZDoom >= r1231 or Zdoom >= r3274

Er. Did anyone ever see my last reply, sorry, I've been busy in real life. Real life is indeed what happens when you're busy making plans. :(

I'm enjoying this game so far, but I don't like how huge the blood sprite effects are when I hit someone with a weapon. Perhaps it's just because I have the decal settings to something incorrect.

I was watching a Let's play of this, and the player of this mod, Descentfreak wasn't suffering from these huge blood decals. I know he was playing the GZdoom version, but still, maybe it's a simple option in the menu?
Here. This is the best screenshot I could take.

It's possible that Zdoom handles the blood and decals differently than GZdoom. You might want to try that.

I will play around with the option menu, at the most, I could turn off the decals totally, but that would be kind of weird looking.

I might have to eventually use GZDoom, except for the fact my computer is crappy and it lags in Zdoom when a lot of barrels explode...I really don't want to see Barrels of Fun in GZdoom on my computer. :)

Hopefully I'll get it all fixed.
At the worst, I'll have to wait until I get my new computer for my birthday that's coming up in September. I'll be 30!
