Well, yes, I think it will be nice feature, not sure though when I'll actually look into it.
My current "new features plan" is something like this:
- add (Z)MAPINFO and GLDEFS parsers (done, need more testing).
- render dynamic lights defined in GLDEFS (working on it now).
- change doom-style walls shading to look more Doom-ish (not started).
- use settings from (Z)MAPINFO in Visual modes (Fade, OutsideFog, VertWallShade HorizWallShade, SmoothLighting, EvenLighting parameters) (not started).
- add PCX image format support (seen a lot of models with textures in this format) (not started).
- new plugin to easily edit texture parameters in Visual Mode (things like texture offset, rotation, scale, surface shading and so on) (not started).
- sky rendering.
- sector light animation.
