When can we expect a GZdoom version of v13? Not to sound impatient, but I just love those new shotgun sprites :D

Also, unbelievably dumb question, but if I have a save file running Brutal Doom v12, could I just continue using that same save file when v13 releases? I'd hate to abandon all my progress and start over from square one :?

Any change of wads will break your saves. Just use "map mapXX" and "give [item]" to get you back where you were. Besides, most maps have pistol starts in mind so it's not a big deal even if you just use the map command.

hey can you make alternate modes for each weapon like the fists (not alt fire. just another MODE of fire). here are my suggestions:
chainsaw: a swing mode or a throw mode
rifle: semi-auto and auto (with a fixed fire rate)
shotgun: spreads 5 instead of 10m but each is 2x more powerful (close range specialty)
SSG: 40 instead of 20 but each is 1/2 as strong (wide room specialty)
chain gun: fires from ALL the 6 barrels (or how many your chain gun has, of course this will eat up TONS of ammo)
rocket launcher: since you took out the grenade launcher it only seems fair that the alt of this one are grenades.
plasma rifle: rail-gun or flame thrower or even a shield! your pic
BFG 9000: alt mode is BFG 10k style or BFG 2709 (i think) fireworks style! spreading of tons of plasma!
mancubus cannon: it kinda looks like mega-man's buster so.......................(charge shots!)
MP40: no ideas

The beta builds are only for Skulltag, but the official versions comes up with the ST and GZDoom at the same time.
And Yes, you loose all progress with the update.



About adding a pistol, Vaecrius already said what I think about it.

I would kind of like a pistol though.

Also, did you ever think about making enemy rockets shootable, so that they could explode in midair? It would make fights more interesting, especially with Revenants.

I guess it'd be a superfluous weapon though. It'd be better to hone each existing weapon to fill all roles rather than add a new one at this point. The rifle is my new favorite Doom weapon next to the shotgun. I actually like it more than the minigun. :P

Just incase if anyone had not heard me before, what about a fatalities on the rest of the monsters like the Cyberdemon, Spidermastermind, Arch Vile, Pain Elemental, Arachnotron, and finally SS Nazi?

Especially for the Cyberdemon and Spidermastermind which would create a surprise rewarding feeling if you manage to kill them with only your fists (of course only with the bersker pack).

Without knowing anything about anything I can safely say "give it time" when it comes to more finishers. Come on, that stuff doesn't come from magical happy gore land. There's work involved.

The Arch vile and arachnotron fatalities have been added already as well....
The weapon system is fine as it is, all are useful in their own way and the new mancubus and revenant weapons are definitely unique and fun to use.

That's some ridiculous dodging there to kill him with berserked fists alone! I think it would be harder in BrutalDoom because of cybie's stomp attack and his longer rocket volleys (6 at a time, with some prediction!) he shoots.
