Favorite mods?
Re: Favorite mods?
We get these sorts of threads so often that it is more rewarding and informative for us to take the piss, I think.

Nah, I think it's good for the newer zdoomers to discuss this type of stuff.Phobus wrote:We get these sorts of threads so often that it is more rewarding and informative for us to take the piss, I think.

Re: Favorite mods?
My suggestion would be to make up an official thread then, so everyone can post in the same thread, thus saving space and time.Phobus wrote:We get these sorts of threads so often that it is more rewarding and informative for us to take the piss, I think.
....if one doesn't already exist, of course.
Re: Favorite mods?
Of course, the intrepid thread-poster could always use the search feature, go back and find a similar thread and bump it as is encouraged on Doomworld. This would also give us a bit of a trend-over-time to look at were we interested.Doomer_1996 wrote:My suggestion would be to make up an official thread then, so everyone can post in the same thread, thus saving space and time.Phobus wrote:We get these sorts of threads so often that it is more rewarding and informative for us to take the piss, I think.

Re: Favorite mods?
If so, that really isn't it. If we all went to that thread and posted rated lists of mods we enjoy, somebody would get annoyed.scalliano wrote:It does.
EDIT: Darn. Last time I posted, I managed to honour the topic. Complete failure this time. Well, my answer is already in.

Re: Favorite mods?
I personally have a large list of favorite weapon mods. Back in the day (even today), one of my all time favorite classics is wildweasel's The Stranger. Later on, I moved onto GZDooM Advanced. Albeit, modified. Recently, I find my self enjoying Brutal DooM, that and my own mod.
Oh, and as for my favorite modder? Totally wildweasel. /end fan boy.

Sounds to me like another in the age old tension between "Internet as written record" and "internet as conversation". I'm more inclined towards the latter myself, though the whole "Internet keeps everything you've ever said part keeps nagging at the back of my head...Real_Capt_Proof wrote:Nah, I think it's good for the newer zdoomers to discuss this type of stuff.Phobus wrote:We get these sorts of threads so often that it is more rewarding and informative for us to take the piss, I think.

Re: Favorite mods?
Sadly that seems to be correct... can't capture bases and the units only attack anything at very rare, very random intervals (though movement seems to be more or less the same).
Now if only we had some way to contact the author to see if she could update it...

Most definitely Void.Wad. Well for one it feels like what a modern doom level should feel like. (Creative, challenging and willing to use the new features of it's sourceports of choice (Zdoom) in a meaningful and inventive way!) I cannot recommend this

That sounds pretty much like me, always searching on doom world, zdoom wiki and youtube to bump something oldPhobus wrote: Of course, the intrepid thread-poster could always use the search feature, go back and find a similar thread and bump it as is encouraged on Doomworld. And also, got a new favorite:SMWGuns9Qhttp://files.drdteam.org/index.php/file ... guns9q.pk3
It's pretty much like that counterstrike mod i forgot the name, but you can actually go akimbo with a pistol or winchester at you right hand and the other with apistol or winchester X_X it's pretty fun, i guess.

Go get Shooting Monsters with TEXTURES, it's the lastest version of this mod.Doomer_1996 wrote::SMWGuns9Q

I don't think SMWTextures is meant to be a replacement to SMWGuns, just a fun alternative. The mechanics between them are a bit different.
Speaking of, when are they going to get a proper release?
