The way it works is, you create a new entry (lump) in your map and call it MAPINFO. Highlight it and click on Edit as Text, which opens the text editor and type in the script.

So what, the procedure is identical in both lump editors, dude.

A statement which is completely nonsensical.
How exactly would you know for this to be true if you have only just now started mapping.

Select a lot of entries
Hit the right button on your mouse. To do so, press on it with one of your fingers, or, if you have no fingers, you can try pressing with the tip of your nose.
A strange squarish grey thing appears. Don't run away in panic, it's just something called a "context menu". It's harmless. You don't need to hide.
Move your mouse. You'll notice some movement on the screen as well. It is the mouse cursor. The mouse cursor's movements are dictated by the mouse's mouvements, which you control. Practice a bit with this, then make the mouse cursor go over the text that reads "Rename" on the context menu.
Click the left mouse button. It's the button that's on the other side of the mouse compared to the button you've clicked earlier. Again, use one of your fingers or your nose, preferably a finger if you have any.
I hope this tutorial was detailed and accessible enough. If you need help with any of the steps, don't hesitate to ask!
Now more seriously. You have two choices: "Rename" and "Rename Each". When you choose "Rename", you can use masked renaming, like XWE, and it'll rename all entries at once. If you choose "Rename Each" instead, you'll get a text prompt for each selected entry, so you'll have to rename each of them separately. Generally you'll want "Rename" but "Rename Each" was added on request, so maybe you'll have some use for it too one day.
Her... When I open my mod on Slade3, it asks if I want to "edit as text" almost all of my lumps, even many images and sounds. What I need to do to make it recognize the files?
You mean it doesn't display the images and sounds? That's weird. What version are you using? Is the slade.pk3 from the same build? If you hit Ctrl-2, do you see any error messages in the console window?
I'd suggest you get the latest SVN build, make sure to extract both slade.exe and slade.pk3, and try again. If you have further issue, please post them in the SLADE 3 thread.

Then get an SVN build from there. They are built with the same compiler as ZDoom and GZDoom are, so no need for additional msvc DLLs. If you can run ZDoom, you can run the SVN builds of SLADE 3.
