Unless they switch platforms, they can't really. Console games are limited by six year-old hardware. Unfortunately, since console games make so much more money, developers/publishers make games for consoles and churn out half-assed PC ports, so the PC gets generally shafted. Witcher 2 is what a modern game looks like.

...Sure, most people have probably seen this video and heard the song, but nevertheless it tugs on a heartstring. I was only five years old when I first saw it (it's actually one of my earliest memories).
