First, you're wrong. Arioch took note of what you said, and countered it. You in fact did not take note of what HE said.TheDarkArchon wrote:And no-one has taken note of what I said.......
Second, you're taking a topic meant in good fun WAY too seriously.
If you don't appreciate the humour behind my hunger strike, I suggest you take a non-breathing strike until this thread dies.

Well, I had a piece of toast last night, but that's all since Monday morning. Friday afternoon now. Plus side is I've lost over half a stone this week, and I was in a position to be able to afford the loss. I don't think I'm about to start crawling through the snow and seeing visions of Ben Kenobi, however.randy wrote:I do hope nobody has starved themselves to death yet.
As an aside, this has always bothered me:
Luke Skywalker is a small town boy from a desert planet. He has only ever seen sand, sand and more sand. When he gets up in the morning, 2 suns are already burning down from the sky. When he goes to bed, those same suns are setting. He is probably an expert in desert survival, could perhaps find water in the most unlikely of places, knows how to lose heat without getting sunburned. However, in a frozen wasteland, on a frozen planet, injured, hungry and dying of hypothermia he is unlikely to know what to do. So, half delerious, he calls out to his mentor. The ghostly figure of Ben Kenobi appears and offers him advice.
What is this advice? Was it something like "Luke, you must build a snow hole" or "Luke find some extra layers of clothing and a hot drink". No! He tells him to go to a planet on the other side of the galaxy that no-one has heard of to meet a Jedi master everyone assumes is dead. What's more, he doesn't even give a decent description of the guy he is supposed to meet. Thanks Ben.
Obi-wan was just trying to maintain the uber-mysteriousness of "Teh Other Side".
Ok, seriously, he's this dead guy who knows shit beyond what goes on in the world of the living, like the fact that, the moment he vanished, Solo was going to stumble upon Luke and rescue him. (And apparently he knows how to survive the cold, just so long as he's got some fresh meat handy..)
Unfortunately due to a terrible lack of timing (personally I think he was half-crazy from hiding out on Tatooine for so long) he also didn't give himself enough of a margin to fully describe Yoda... he can't have Han seeing his ghostly visage standing there, right? (Or can he...)
