[WIP: Demon: Experimental Horror]

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

Indeed? More comments for one screenshot and hardly any info than ever before? Well, anyway, I didn't, obviously, have a chance to upload more screenshots. I hope I will be able to soon, but I probably won't for another week, sorry. I intend, however, to put my primary efforts into either fear, or into making the levels feel 3D and HD, rather than out of place. I'm not a good mapper, personally, but I'll give it my best. Also, I have obtained a new copy of Q2Modeller, (Blast mistaken deletion,) so I will see what I can to to make the models fit.

Okay, aside from commenting on the random picture of a cyberdemon in a suit, I have a few updates.

I've fixed almost every bug in the mod, and have only finishing touches to the map. I would like to add multiple endings, and have the graphics in place, just need to add the code. Also, I need to put more hints in the level for confronting the final boss, but all told, I'm almost done. I hope to release this in a few days.

I actually made a sketch of a steampunkish cyberdemon for a forum RP a while ago. I called them steam demons, or "steamons".
removed link
They had hands/fingers on their cannon arm and they "snapped" back when they were going to fire them (in three round bursts too)[/spoiler]

But yeah, this looks like it'll be a cool mod to play. I like the battery bar as a health bar thing, it's clever.

Xim, could you do something about that image link of yours (http://dalpedia.xorlak.com/images/b/bf/Steamon.jpg). The host demands authentication for the resource. It provides the necessary information, but I don't like getting that sort of popup.

Yes please Xim remove that image tag and make it a url instead, it would be best if you uploaded it somewhere else. It causes a popup on entering the second page of this topic and it sort of scared me and made me think "WHAT DID I DOOO? D:"

Thanks... I keep forgetting why there is a steampunk cyberdemon on this topic, but it is a really good idea for a base for a mod. I'm seeing something like Assassin's Creed or Strife in gameplay.

Okay, project delayed, I exceeded the maximum playable content on my computer, the playtesting is way too slow. When I can start testing on a faster computer, I'll continue to update. I hope to put some screenshots on tomorrow.

EDIT: Took longer than expected, but some more uploaded. I have some bugfixes, but it'll be online shortly.

Okay, change of plan. I've been thinking about it, and I think I'm gonna slow this project down to add in a deathmatch mode, one that I intend to resemble the versus on L4D2.

Okay, I'm just about done with the final Single Player playtesting. I would like volunteers for the multiplayer playtesting, as my computer and internet suck, to report glitches and suchwhat. I tried it on skulltag, but as we already know, skulltag is renowned for it's lack of compatibility, and therefore, when I removed all the features Skulltag couldn't comprehend, I still had a mega-bogged down game. It wasn't worth continuing on that source port, from my pov. Anyway, if peoples are willing to lend their time, I'll PM them a download link. That way they can hold their own sessions.

[EDIT]

Okay, more screenshots uploaded in first post.
Incidentally, if people do volunteer for MP testing, I will be requesting and posting some of theirs, do to my inability of network a game.

Also, I seperated the Hires field textures for performance, so when it's published, You will have the option to play it With or without, and with a custom pallate. I just have some hud fixes to do. Hence the althud on more recent screenies.

[EDEDIT?]

Yeah, so if you wanna be on the playtesting, PM me, don't post, there are too many spoilers for posting.

The mapping doesn't look that great, but since this is multi-player I'd be willing to help you test it. I've been worried a bit on my own project with some of its proposed features if they will crash the engine or not.
