If you're wanting to "enhance" your experience, but keep the original feel of Heretic, just looking nicer. Check out my mod; Heretic++. [Oh man, the plugging, it hurts]

hahaha heretic++ Ima download that, it looks cool

Isnt that just heretic, but it supports classes, operator overloading, templates etc.

Also, when you finished heretic, and you want to enhance hexen, there are some good mods out there, but I would personally reccomend HexenHanced, although it modifies the gameplay, so you should play Hexen through first

Nah... The guy that made that is an idiot, and never bothered to balance any of it. He was talking about maybe rebooting it, but that hasn't gone anywhere yet. :P

who needs balance when the mod is so incredibly fun!

but I will admit some of the things in it are a little overpowered.

Maybe I could balance it out during the uni break in a few weeks

There's the Heretic Treasure Chest, for maps. I think the Heretic Community Chest is different, but I can't find a link and it might still be in development. HPack, also, is in development, but it has new maps, weapons and monsters as well.

There are also some new monsters and weapons on Realm667, but they don't really work stand-alone with Heretic and are intended to be placed in new maps and things like that.

What do you mean by that, exactly?

If you are looking for not too complex but fun maps, then you should take a gander at Oblige 3.57.
Especially since it is customizable.

I also made this little utility wad so you can see all your ammo stocks at the same time. (on ZDoom's fullscreen HUD)

I thought they were the same thing, after all HTC was meant to be the Heretic version of the Community Chest series.

Search on the Doomworld idgames for Blood, Fire, Death. Its an awesome set of huge, difficult Heretic maps.
I can't give you a link now because I'm at school and Doomworld is blocked.

-Check out Chris Lutz's maps: Reclamation, Torture, and Icebound (the newest one). Icebound is probably one of the most gorgeous Heretic levels out there.
-History of Fruit
-HPack (whenever its finished)
-Heretic Treasure Chest
-How to Dissappear Completely (this is the third & last in a series by Pablo Dictter; the others are Heart of Fire and River of Fire)

As far as weapon mods, things are even more sparse.
-Shoot Monsters with Guns has Heretic compatibility
Can't think of any more. Sure there's a few I'm missing.
