Actions with actors - rotating things
I dunno if this is all useful. Help me to decide if it's worth to do the rest:
After successful rotation through x/y plane, rotation through x/z plain fails:
Next will be cube and other famous 3-dimesnsional figures.
But that would be only after successful turnings to all directions and angles. It is possible to do so projectiles would follow its actor. Just like Afrit comets fly around it. It can be also used as tracer projectiles to a certain target. (homing missiles, plasma bolts imps fireballs etc.) Or just a defense shiels or a jail for monsters.

W-woah.
Stuff like this would definately be awesome for visual effects!
And danmaku-styled stuff, with (I'm guessing) some modifications to the code.

I'd LOVE to see a bullet-hell mod for Doom ...
I can see this being useful for "core" bosses - imagine having to knock out a slew of revolving shield panels before you can deal damage to the "brain". This can only be a good thing.

Hell, yeah! Funnily enough, I'm playing through that on the 360 at the mo (missed it the first and second times around, heh). Coding the polarity mechanic might even be possible in ZDoom with a bit of nouse, but that's another threadSe7eNytes wrote:Ikaruga Doom maybe?

The fail with the rockets is better than a sphere of rockets.

Re: Actions with actors - rotating things
wow neat.
I'm certainly impressed by what ACS can do.

Re: Actions with actors - rotating things
The second video's attempted spheroid ended up looking like a demented carnival ride.
And I think this COULD work for a 3D danmaku type game. There aren't enough 3D schmups like Star Fox.

I've always wanted to make a scrolling shooter - that other thread gives me hope that it could probably be done entirely in ACS :O

danmaku ikaruha touhou bla bla bla.. What the heck is with people and japanese/chinese words these days?..
The videos are great, but I get a strange feeling the future of this new discovery is a lot shorter than it seems..
