Awesome Eriance :D. I love the subtle moving lava-ish bits inbetween the cracks.

Actually, SW in general has pretty bad gameplay, imo. The monsters are way too evasive and deal too much damage. Couple that with SW's strange arsenal of weapons and you got a game that can make you downright frustrated a couple times.
Shadow Warrior had a... troubled development period. Basically Prey was cancelled just to pull the dev team off of it to try and rescue SW. It was why Randy Pitchford left 3DR to do his own thing.

Yeah, I think it looks good. :) The third shot looks a little plain, you might want to try detailing the ceiling somehow. Also, the lighting is pretty uniform in the rooms. There should be more variation, some darker areas, some lighter, all within the same room, to make it look more interesting. :)

There is nothing more disheartening in this world than to spend your entire day by hand replacing textures on a map to be ported over to the 32x, only to encounter an entire room full of "YOU DONE GOOFED" while playtesting.

One could make a crack about how the 32x is half of the N64, and how therefore the insults it throws back at you should be less personal, but that would be lame.

Currently working on a map for the TNT2: Devilution project...despite the fact that I'm not sure if that project's still even active, and my e-mail to the project leader bounced back, and I have a Hotmail account, so I can't even post on the Doomworld thread for it, so maybe this is just a bad idea. But, I guess I can just release it as a standalone map when (if?) it gets done, or shop it around to other megawad projects.

This map is really early in development, and adhering to vanilla DOOM standards, so don't freak out about the ho-hum detailing.

Looks like an alright start. It could use a lot more lighting contrast, though. In classic-styled maps, it doesn't even necessarily have to done in a way that always makes sense, just brighten up an area(s) that you want to draw attention to, optionally sticking some floor lamps/torches/wall lights/ceiling lights/sky windows near them.

Oh, for certain. I haven't actually done any of the lighting in the map yet. Just wanted to carve out the general layout, and then actually try to make it look half-decent afterward. Thanks for your feedback. It'll be less ugly later, promise.

It is true it was troubled. No one in the studio wanted to play the game. But Prey was never cancelled because of SW. That's just not true. Prey had it's fair share of troubles, but it wasn't because of SW. Prey wasn't "cancelled" until two years after SW was released in the first place.

Prey was going to be another one of those projects that would never be finished because of constant restarts right?

And just like DNF, it had to be entrusted to a different studio (in this case, Raven Software 2.0 aka Humanhead Studios) to see completion.

DNF was almost completely developed by 3D realms from what I heard. Gearbox only made multiplayer part and conversions to consoles.

Gearbox also made the extremely important "hey it's good enough let's release it as-is" part which 3DRealms would never have made.
