[2.5.0] Rebels from TeleporterBeacon don't share your colour
I believe it used to be like this.
It no longer is.
It no longer is.

Are you playing multiplayer? Because it only applies there.

No, it was single player.
Why the change, though?

Because it makes sense? It's like the Heretic hellstaff rain. There's a "true" color displayed in single-player games; and purely for convenience it's translated to the player's color in multiplayer games.

I understand why in multiplayer but, it doesn't hurt to also have it change it single player.
Oh well.
Oh well.

It "doesn't hurt" to keep it the way it is, either.

Well, here's how they look in the original game in SP mode. Surely that should be the benchmark for Zdoom SP?

Not really, considering that Strife's player is always brown.
Re: [2.5.0] Rebels from TeleporterBeacon don't share your co
Hmmm... good point. I forgot the important difference that the original Strife didn't allow you to change your player colour in a SP game (but Zdoom, of course, does).
Given that the player colour has been given added functionality in Zdoom, it makes sense for this to be seen through to the teleporting Rebels as well. Mind you, then they are inconsistent with all the other rebels in he game.
Either way, it's a pretty minor point and I personally don't really care which way the decision goes.

I'll be honest here: After testing this I quickly decided that it doesn't look good so they'll remain brown.

Just remembered about this thread.
What about a compatibility option of some sort?

[wiki=CVARs:Configuration#Compatibility_options]Compat options[/wiki] are for actual mechanic changes, not purely cosmetic things you can do without.SilentRage wrote:What about a compatibility option of some sort?
