[Tool] Spricer

Post by DBThanatos »

First of all, I didnt make this tool, nor Im involved with it or the developer in any way at all. This is just an "informative" post :P

Spricer

This is a little yet extremely useful tool to slice sprites out of an sprite sheet.
The site wrote: SPRICER is a standalone application for fast and easy slicing of sprite sheets.

No more hours wasted, more time for creativity!

Features
  • Easy marque sprite selection.
  • Export selected or all sprites with transparent or original background.
  • Drag n' Drop sprites to preview animations.
  • Drag n' Drop sprites to different applications.
Here's a demonstration video of the application. A little outdated though, since the latest version actually has a GUI.

I found it, and figured it would come useful for other people too (i.e. those proffesional spriters (you know who you are), or anyone who wants to crop sprites out of an spritesheet). So, I thought it would be too asshole-ish to not promote it here.

So, no more photoshop slice tool needed (hell, i dont even have photoshop). This works wonders and is extremely easy to use. Even a little animation preview? What else could we ask for?

Anyway, enjoy, and dont forget to support the maker. :)

EDIT: and Im not sure if this should go in Editing instead, but figured here would be easier to find, and is a perfect tool for certain resources found here.

Looks like a decent and useful tool. How does it fare when a sprite is surrounded by splats of blood or gibs? Does it sometimes cut the gibs out as separate sprites?

Looks very useful. I've been lazy with some sprite sheets i downloaded (lots of cool stuff by ItsNatureToDie), so i'll try it out on those.

EDIT:
OMG i tried it. It can do PNGs with transparent background.

Yeah, if it's outside of the main square measuring, it's going to be treated like a separate sprite. A little downside, true, but for general purposes, this tool really saved me quite a lot of time :)

I don't think I've ever once managed to chop up a sprite sheet properly. Neat tool here :)

It does have problems with certain death animations because of blood particles being "separated" from the actual sprite, but nonetheless a truly awesome tool. Thanks for the heads up.

Me neither, must have used some dumb music as a soundtrack and got DMCAed for that.

DMCA sucks.
