[edit] Yes, it's obvious I didn't read any of the rest of the thread, but this point alone nearly made me quit in disgust.
The ROTT TC - Demo Released - Updated

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
This is awesome. But I'm stuck on the first mission. I can't find the bronze door, not a big fan of the locked doors being un-marked on the map. Otherwise this is pretty awesome.

@El Zee: With regards to your question in your spoiler tag, the answer is no. I don't have a clue!

This is all pretty good! a note about characters though; they actually have different skills with bullet weapons, different speeds, and different health that all make them unique. this is missing; please add this in when you get the chance.

Superb recreation. ROTT always did kick my ass so I just play for the music and sfx. Wonderful nostalgia.
Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
Just a quick question. How many can play multiplayer? I'm trying to organise a game for tonight over at the ROTT forum and I don't want to disappoint people.
If anyone's interested the thread for discussion at the ROTT Forum is here:

So far, there is a whole 2 of us playing tonight!

I included multi.txt in the zip file to help with that, the multplayer .exe files work, try them out, I've run up to 4 players with them, lan & internet.
PS You have to wait for all the people to join before the game starts, it's a zdoom thing.
Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
The presentation is great, the levels look fantastic, and it's definitely slick as hell. Thoughts from what I've played so far (I'm gonna be editing this prolly):
The enemies seem to be a bit too accurate, you have to be extremely careful and even then it's easy to get chewed up even from far away.
The enemies need more hit stun, since I'm pretty sure all the enemies besides the Triad Enforcer were put into hit stun from every shot in ROTT. So if you're lighting up a guy with the mp40 or even the dual pistols they should never be able to shoot you back.
When the lightning guard is begging for his life, one shot should put him down.
The enemies do too much damage on the higher difficulties, hate to sound like I just suck but I'm just comparing to how it was in ROTT, I dunno how accurate you're intending this TC to be so I hope I'm not being too nit picky.

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
I never used the map and I finished the first episode. Whoo-ah!

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
there's no bronze, do you mean gold, silver or iron? the gold and silver doors are at apposing ends of the corridor with the blade traps, and the iron door is at the end of the moving wall hallway.Xim wrote:Any help with this?Xim wrote:This is awesome. Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
I'm pretty sure I found a door on the first mission that said I needed a bronze key.
Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
Okay so I played through this and it was amazing. No I didn't get passed the first level since I couldn't find the iron door
, but I had fun playing it
. You really captured the ROTT feeling. A few things though:
The maps have wide open bland areas, scale down some areas or add a bit more detail
Enemies are too accurate and give you little chance sometimes, maybe increase their pain state duration and decrease their accuracy
Original ROTT had some variations between the different characters (speed, health, ...) see if you can replicate that
The Excalibat has some issues when I try to use it as a melee weapon. Also make the Excalibat usable as a melee weapon when you run out of "ammo"
That's about it. Its really well done I love it

there are two ways to get to the iron key:
