Sound Lumps?

Post by Bloodfury »

Hello!

Can anyone tell me what is the proper way to import sounds and music files to my wad, using XWE.
I can't get them to work.

And if I create a new lump, and use the function "replace" the wad file becomes corrupt?

I've also tried to import straight sound files using "load" but the lumps are empty.. and cannot be played..

I will thank you already. :)

You see all those tabs at the bottom of the window? Double click one depending on the type of file you want to import and a window will come up titled "open". The rest should be obvious.

XWE can only play WAV files. Anything else, though it may be supported in ZDoom, XWE will simply fail to recognize it. Don't worry about that.

Not entirely true... it will recognize most sound formats but can only play WAV's. The only format I've ever used that wasn't recognized by XWE are MP3's.

@Bloodfury: BTW, I don't recommend using XWE to import PNG's. It has a nasty habit of screwing up in that regard. (for those, get SlumpEd or SLADE3)

It won't mess them up if you use the raw data option.
