I "shouted" against noobs? They really need to make some sort of software so that you would no if im kidding or serious in my posts.

@Lexus: I dont care about post count. I've only checked the zdoom forums' top 10 ppls' post counts once to see if randy had the most posts. Anyways, i classify anyone in the zdoom community a "noob" if they ask a question and clearly dont have a clue ( or dont ask a question and still not have a clue).

And i dont want to flame noobs, i want to be able to tell them how to do what they want before they run off to legacy. Maybe you thought i was trying to flame all noobs to death in my other posts, but i was frustrated someone would be so near-sighted to not see the greatness of ZDooM and have them run off to legacy.

We won! Check out the redesigned Downloads page! :) (1.22 is still there but it's at the bottom below all the other stuff - where it belongs!)

Now I am really interested how the download statistics change for the next month. ;)

As far as noobs go, someone needs to hold their hand as they go. That's what tech support is for. (I felt noobish first time I used Doom Builder, but by the second time around I knew the drill like I'd been doing it forever.) So, Agent ME's strategy of telling people what to do would really help!

Come to think of it... if computer stores had a little handout (not like that professor who sells his "learn to use computer" software, it should be MUCH cheaper so poeple would actually use it) on a micro CD, we wouldn't have poeple like Lucas and Mickey.

(edit) By the way, I also was a 1.22 noob for a while, but I still thought Zdoom was better than legacy because I was using a pentium 133 with a 1mb trident card. That and I could do way better keybindings. Plus it had more familiar scripting. Then, when I was using DeePsea, and trying to get invis bridges to work, and they wouldn't, I figured that there must be a newer version out there, and that's when I actaully searched through the archives to find the real ZDoom.

Hehe, same here. The only reason I'm so well known is that I appeared right at the beginning of these new forums, stuck to them like glue, and never bothered to unstick myself. :P

And the new download page == teh awesome!

New download page? Funny thing that, I never have any reason to go there :D.

Nobody sticks to the boards as much as sticky... well, he's sticky, you know? That was so lame... :D

Programming came easy because I stuck to that like glue, even though I started with BASIC on an old Commodore 64... but then I learned different dialects of BASIC, started translating between them, and thought "Hey this is fun!" Soon after "Doom: the 'M' Cronicles" was released by me after taking the TI-85 code and turning it to 82, which got me into tons of trouble cuz I was always doing it in class... But people knew I had games for calcs.

To finally learn that Hexen had some form of code to it was cool too, but Hexen.exe had too many bugs and my training rooms always crashed after a while... Ack! I'm ranting about my programming background!

Let's just say that ZDoom stayed faithful to Hexen and then added in the most powerful keybinding system I've seen on any FPS. Even Heretic 2 and Quake don't give me this much control.

Alias +precise "+mlook;autoaim 0"
Alias -precise "-mlook;autoaim 5000"

I use that instead of just mlook so I can aim my rockets and plasma rounds RIGHT where I want em, and give me basic autoaim the rest of the time. But that pales in comparison to the mousewheel zoom I did... which I think I'll put somewhere else? I'm way off topic as it is. Gah, I always sem to do this!

Woohoo! Now hopefully we'll have less people coming in and asking why "the latest version of zdoom" doesn't work for them!
