I noticed that after build 2735 or thereabouts the menu code was described, to my mind, as pretty much functional. Today I downloaded the lastest SVN build (2739(2744))from the DRD Team site hoping to play around with the new menu system, GUI mouse control and on-screen keyboard only to find that nothing had changed. I presume it's more a case of the code is there it's that it's not implemented in the GUI yet but that's not how I read the posts and changelog... Am I missing something? Any explanations are welcome and appreciated.
Silly Question RE: Latest SVN Builds
Silly Question RE: Latest SVN Builds
I am really excited about the new menu code being added to ZDoom and have been following it's development as closely as I can (considering a total lack of technical knowledge on my part!).

Re: Silly Question RE: Latest SVN Builds
The SVN builds are of the main trunk, not of the experimental branches. If you look at the changelog, you'll see each entry is now prefixed with something like "zdoom → trunk" or "zdoom → menu branch".
Using branches allows to develop new features or rewrite core elements without affecting the main development trunk. This helps because often these work-in-progress things could disrupt normal operation of the port, so we can wait until something is completed and stabilized before folding it back to the trunk.

Re: Silly Question RE: Latest SVN Builds
Thanks for the response (and the wiki article!). It all makes sense now. I'll just be a little more patient... and observant!

If you look, you may occasionally find builds of these in the Expirimental section. For instance, there's a 2714 build there right now.
