If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

Hey Wild Weasel, do you mind if I use the color palette from "The Stranger" :?: It goes great with Red Sky :mrgreen:

Just a screen that shows off the new quick HUD I made...pretty much just copied and pasted different System Shock 2 HUD gfx together :3:

No problem, it could probably use some improvement here and there but I don't see how I could lay exclusive claim to a set of colors, so go ahead. =P

I still want to know how you made that palette edit, though.

XWE can do it easily, I'm not sure about SlumpED. You just have to get the PLAYPAL lump (I believe) and manually edit the colors or something. :P

That shot does look good, though. It's amazing what a palette tweak can do for the visuals - anyone who's played that Bioshock level remake for Doom 2 will know what I mean.

I seem to recall taking a screenshot of Doom, editing the palette of it in Paint Shop Pro 3, then running it through the DOS program InkWorks. I later found out that XWE allowed me to do it more easily and tweaked it a bit from there (and regenerated the colormap, as Inkworks didn't do too good of a job there).

Nice screenshot Zero, but that glove looks a bit color-raped IMHO. Don't know if it is because of the altered palette or if the sprites are just like that...

Anyway, I wanted to do this for a long time now and finally "forced" myself to start a Quake map:

Lightning isn't properly done yet, as most areas and especially the outside-part look way too dark ATM.

That... is... wait, how'd you do that? Looks WAY better and more elaborate than the classic Quake style!

@Vader: Sgjsklgsdfjklk;jkl awesome! Looks great. Nice color choice in the outdoor scene, too.

Only major suggestion I can really think of is to work a bit on the wall-to-ceiling transition on the cave rocks; it feels a bit unnatural to me as-is, and doesn't help to hide the wall's flatness.

Yeah, I'm not entirely happy with the cave parts yet as well... I need to work on that a bit more!

@Mechadon:
I'll propably upload the map here once it's completely done, but actually I'm tring to do a whole 8 map episode :wink:
