Ooh this looks good - not too keen on the new 'toothpaste' palette though, maybe use sector colouring to make outside areas more frosty looking by reducing colour saturation?

I always loved winter-themed WADS!!!! How come the indoor creatures from the latest shots turn back to normal, though? We need Icy Imps, Frosty Fatsos, Cold Cacos, and Bitter Barons darnnit!!!!

I would love to give you an answer, but that would ruin part of the story

Good idea, I will try that.

One thing that stuck out to me, though, was that the gradient lighting on the door in this screenshot is a pretty good example of the problems with fog being directly tied to lighting in Doom. Instead of the door getting brighter where the lights are shining on it, it gets less foggy, which makes no sense and looks weird. :\
I always disliked the way the fog worked with the lighting. I will try to work with the fog a bit more, and see what I come up with. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks again for the comments :)

Fixed the fog, and now the maps look a whole lot creepier as the whole thing became alot darker.

Still got some work to do as it still kind of clashes with the sky, but this is a start :)

That looks much better; it no longer looks so much like noxious gas. :P

I think the transitions between the chunks of dark-gray rock and the lighter snowy rock could be improved, though. That's something that bugs me a lot in screenshots I see of outdoor scenes in Doom: very different rock textures with no real transition between them, just a sharp cutoff where one ends and the next one starts. Ideally, custom-fitted textures that fade from one to the other around the shape of the rocks would have potential for awesome, but it'd be effort-intensive and it'd make alignments rather finicky.....<_<

Is there a reason why the fog effects never seems to cover the sky textures too? Either way, this looks nice thus far. :)

Last I checked, that's not a place.

Well actually, the mod is not complete yet so Morpheus is right. I have not been able to complete too much work on this project, due to things like Stronghold and Blocks of Doom 2, but I guess I should give an update while I am here.

And of course, Screenshots speak better than words.

On the cinematic side of things:

All the "Scripted Marine Sprites" are placeholders untill I get some better sprites.

EDIT: Yes, the sky still looks funny. Still trying to fix that.

Very WIP.

In this area there is glass on the ceiling, which breaks as some lost souls fly into it, causing the ice to fall down and block your path.

You must have spent a lot of time on the detailing. Looks really nice. The gun doesn't look quite aligned. Maybe it would look better if moved a bit more to the side?

Add the fog effects to the skybox. Still won't be perfect, but it will look a bit more "natural".

Looking good, though!
