[DEAD] Twilight, Check new topic...

Post by Grymmette »

Twilight is a little 'mod' that I worked on a while back and recently finished.

Basically, it is a monster replacement mod that switches up the original enemies with ones that are generally more 'gothic' and spooky.
All of the monsters are from the beastiary, because I have no idea how to make my own monsters, and tweaked a little for gameplay balances.
It is really not much but someone told me that it's pointless to work on a project and then not release it and this was the only one project that I was confident in releasing to the general public.

Suggestions on improving the mod are welcome and if you think that you have a monster that belongs in this mod feel free to share it.

In V2: Tweaked numerous monsters and added some new enemies as well...

I've also found that this texture pack (That goes along with Hard-Doom) makes
the environment more suitable for these monsters: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?enjmtninytt

I was thinking of making a skulltag compatible version but it just seems that skulltag refuses to cooperate so if anyone can tell me what to do to modify the monsters, actors, ect. (I'm not that good with decorate), so that I could actually get to work on a skulltag compatible version...

It does work with Skulltag, you just have to use the extremely buggy beta build http://skulltag.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=19645 as the main 97D3 build is not up-to-date enough.

if you are going for that gothic feel, I suggest that you use the Undead Priest instead as a ShotgunGuy replacement, tweaked of course, and the Caco Lich as the Cacodemon replacement

Thanks, I'll take that into account and update the wad too!
Too bad it doesn't work with skulltag, yet...

One problem with the undead priest though, I don't know to what amount the attack damage should be to be at the same level damage as a regular sergeant. I never paid attention to exactly how much damage a sergeant does before so...

Re: [RELEASED] Twilight Monster Mod V3 Final and Skulltag!

Post by Grymmette »

Well, I think this is the final version of my mod. I have fixed numerous errors and worked out a skulltag version too.

The skulltag version is still in its beta stages as the skulltag specific monsters cant be replaced. I need the decorate for the belphegor, blood demon, etc. To complete it, if anyone could get these for me it would be much appreciated...

I dug deep and managed to find all but the decorate for the belphegor, abbadon, and cacolantern, I just need those...

I may have missed some bugs also (in both versions) so report any bugs found.

Post by Grymmette »

Updated zdoom version: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ugijmmjt012

I consider the zdoom version to be in completion, hopefully no glitches are left...

Skulltag version so far: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?42uitk12qmm

Cacolantern and Belphegor added, all I need is the Abbadon to finish things off, although the implementation could be improved.
The Stalker teleportation glitch is fixed also.

I coulda sworn that I deleted this post....
"Twilight" is now in the reworks, this is an old, extremely outdated version, that honestly, wasn't ready to be released and I jumped the gun :|
So yes, of course the download link doesn't work, this is too old to be downloaded anyway, just wait for the neat, well-done. final version to be released, you can check progress in this topic : http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=23414

Mod renamed to 'Dark Twilight' to avoid confusion with the book series. New topic with progress can be found in the above link, please post there. This topic should have died by now...
