Where can I find disney.wad?

Post by DoomSplitter »

I've been looking every where for the disney sprite replacement wad, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know if there is a site where I can download it?

Exe? That looks too suspicious for me to use, much less download....

I've downloaded this before. It's clean.

Yeah. I just downloaded it right now and that file just has the wad, the textfile, a .bat file and something called dontrun.exe. Unfortunately, the wad doesn't work. It says something about an error in the credits lump or something. I'm not too sure.

The wad is a completely jumbled mess. There's no sprite, textures, and flats markers and wad editors confuse sprites for sounds and whatnot. Frankly, it's not worth the effort to fix. I preferred the Nintendo wad from the same author.

The exe is a self extracting archive. If you don't want to run it, WinRAR opens it and you can just extract the files.

By the look of it, dontrun.exe is a copy of doom2.exe ver 1.7a. I'm going to guess that it has been dehacked or something.

S_* markers are in the WAD but they are at the very start and very end thereby placing every lump in the wad into the sprite namespace. It wouldn't take too long to fix it but I don't have time ATM.

[edit] Meh, it only took a couple of minutes

All I did was put the various resources in the correct namespaces. I didn't delete or fix anything else so whatever dehacked changes may exist, they aren't in this WAD. It seems to work probably about 95% as the author originally intended though.

I was able to create a DEH file from the executable using DeHackEd. It wasn't tested, so I don't know if it works.
