1) The menu seems less responsive than normal. If I very quickly press Esc, up arrow, enter, Y (from within a game) which is, by habit, the way I tend to quit the game so I do it very fast after years of conditioning. Anyway, one of the keystrokes tends to get ignored (usually the enter) so the menu doesn't enter the quit routine and just sits there on the top menu with the skull flashing beside "Quit Game".
2) If you go to quit a game and take the options as far as getting the "witty" "are you sure (Press Y)" on screen and then cancel it by pressing Esc (rather than N), the game goes back to normal-play but the yellow fade remains on screen as does the "are you sure" message. The game plays normally but if you try to bring up the menu again, it works but you can't see it (ie the yellow fade and quit message remains and the menu stuff does not actually appear). You can use the menu but you can't see it.

I noticed these, too and just wanted to report them.
Another one:
Press Enter on the 'Do you want to quit' screen and the message changes but the menu remains active.
The rewritten menu code seems to have some serious problems.

I thought there was something odd going on here. Every so often, when I bring up the menu while already in the game, the cursor kept scrolling downward, as if the down arrow key was stuck. It wasn't, because the player wasn't constantly moving backwards.
Also, this seems to have affected item usage as well. It would take a few tics longer to activate the item after selecting it, maybe upwads of a second or more, and in some situations, that could spell real trouble.

Well, it seemed like there was a problem. I thought there was something wrong with my keyboard at first.
