Looking for a Hovercar model

Post by Enjay »

Anyone got a hovercar model that I could use in GZdoom? I need something about the size and approximate appearance of, say, maybe the "Spinner" from "Blade Runner" or, preferably, something a little smaller like perhaps the car that Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi drove through Corruscant in in "Attack ot the Clones".

I've got everything from Sitter's site and all the hover cars from Unreal Tournament but none of them are quite right for what I want.

What about those flying things in that video you uploaded to youtube? I thought they were hovercars.

Nah, they were marine Viper space craft from Quake 2. They look more like military jets than a small personal transport, which is what I want.

However, and somewhat surprisingly, with a bit of reconfiguring to widen it, give it a seat texture, add a new dash and add few controls, plus remove a face and a pig (!), the flying pig car from the Duke Hi-Res pack comes pretty close to what I want.

I only need it as a static model. It's not going to be moving.

Heh, yeah, I hadn't originally wanted the weapons but I took them off and decided that I preferred it with them on.

Actually, it's supposed to be a prototype that the dirty Incas have stolen and your job is to get it back. It's only something that I've been messing with for my own amusement 'cos I've been off work and bored over the last day or so. The level is just the train level from PAR reconfigured for my tastes with a few bits and pieces added.

What I love about the Duke HRP is that a lot of the models have been shadow/radiosity-baked... it makes the model look so much more awesome (and even sometimes photo-realistic, like Duke's HUD hands), even in an engine with flat lighting like GZDoom...

Yeah, there is some pretty good quality stuff in the Duke hi-res pack and they're improving it all the time. That pig car is not the one in the main pack (which was OK in itself) but an updated one from one of the HRP update packs.

In case people don't know ther update packs can be gotten here

http://hrpupdate.duke4.net/index.html

but apparently there is going to be a consolidated fully updated release very soon.
