about playing on cellular phones: battery life.

You can play 17 hours with GBA SP without backlight!! How can you with NGAGE?

With my 7650, i can only play two or three hours... then dead!

[EDIT]I guess they released more information than I realised. Regarding the multiplayer capabilities:
Wireless: DS users will be able to connect with a local wireless network of up to 16 players. Nintendo's guaranteed range is 30 feet, but will extend far beyond that depending on circumstances. It assures high response rates required for real time game play, and will make use of both IEEE 802.11 and Nintendo's proprietary communication protocol, which provides low battery consumption. Players will be able to chat and play games without any connecting cords, completely untethered. The DS technology also provides for a wireless LAN connection, which could allow a theoretically infinite number of players to connect at a hot spot and compete at a central game hub on the Internet, even if they're thousands of miles apart.
Thus it wouldn't use cell phone service or any proprietary service, it would simply require access to a wireless internet connection.

Great, so I save up for GBA, and Nintendo are already developing something better! Damn the price of progression, damn you all!

The idea of making an hand held SNES is funny... it would be pritty bulky, just to house the cartridges :D. But I do hope they port a lot o those classic SNES RPG's onto the GBA... that would be cool. I just wanna play FF6 (or 3), Chronno Trigger, SOM and maybe good ole Zelda on the road... come on Nintendo! Plus, when I'm touring with bands, my old faithful GBA will bring hourse of boredem reducing amusement :D. (The games that I own are cool... spyro, crash bandicoot, sonic 1 and 2... gotta love em! :D).

It wouldn't need to be any bigger than a Game Gear. But carrying the games around.... heh.

Lexus: Sadly, it sounds like plans to port Final Fantasy 6 (US 3) to the GBA have been dropped in favor of porting US 1 & 2 (FF1 from NES and FF4 from SNES) instead. :(

HotWax: Not entirely true...I believe the FF2 they're porting is the Japanese version, so in essence, this is a GBA version of Final Fantasy Origins. (Not bad at all.)

BlueStar: You cant increase the GBA's resolution. Its built into the hardware. Also, Randy would have to make an agreement with both Nintendo (for making a liscensed game on their GBA) and Id Software (For including the Doom 1 or 2 iwad) and possibly another company (to sell it).

And do you know how much that will cost Randy? And chances are it wont even sell well.

BlueStar kinda sounds like Lin, with crazy ideas that should be in a different game.

Actually, Randy could legally make a GBA port using a 3rd-party emulator/developer package on the PC. The end-user would be responsible for taking the finished ROM and either running it via emulator or copying it to a RAM-cart for playing on an actual GBA. Of course this means the IWAD would have to get on there somehow as well (from the user's computer, not distributed by Randy) but it's certainly a possibility.

I'm pretty sure it'd run like shit anyway, though.
