And it also affect GZDoom (r281 to 290).

Some days ago when I play GZDoom r28x, I noticed the autoaim not function when I load a savegame, because I play new game and autoaim is fine. It(autoaim) does nothing after I load a savegame. I download the newest build and it still happens. :(

Than I decide to investigate.

First, I download ZDoom r1355 and it happens, then I download r1331, and it doesn't. So I download all of ZDoom svn builds from svn.drdteam.org... and got it... this bug happens from r1333(2008/12/28), so I think GZDoom builds after that date also affect too.

I know it still playable with mouse-look but I like original Doom's auto-aiming feel! :D

One important question: Does this happen with new savegames or only with older ones?

Please fix your DF2_NOAUTOAIM code. I don't understand what this is supposed to do. As this bug report shows it's clearly not working.

I've been playing plutonia 2 and also noticed this, thought i was imagining it as i've not played zdoom in over 3 months and thought my skills had dropped or maybe it was a WINE problem on Linux, so glad to see someone else has had the problem, just posting here to confirm

Both happens this shit problem.

I make a savegame with r1332, then load it with r1333 build, and it happens. Change back to r1332 build, and it work fine. r1333 savegame itself happens too.

:(

EDIT : How to fix this shit problem temporarily? Open console, input "autoaim 5000" and press Enter. It should works again till next time you load a savegame. What a annoying shit problem... :p

The DF_NOAUTOAIM code was useless. It is by far the worst method to actually hack around in the user info to implement a feature. The proper way is to do the check when the flag when the underlying value is read, not change this value.

Would this technically explain why everytime I use a zoom feature my auto-aim is immediately set to never? Because it makes using zoom features in weapon mods a right pain.
After the zoom is over, even, it's off, at the very least, it should only be temporarly, and then restore itself.
Unless it's a feature, and if it is, why?
Apologies for the hijack, but I'm hoping I'm suffering something like that.
