Just played Chils duke conversion and it's really good. Almost made me feel like I was actually playing duke (Don't know weather that is a bad thing or not :D).

Okay, now for the bug reports and suggestions:

*The caco replacemets fireballs are too fast.
*The chaingunner replacement don't spit that green shit at you.
*The Cyber demon replacement should stop firing if it is hit hard enough (but not too hard). No matter what you fire at it it keeps on firing... that's a bit overkill
*Most of the monsters that fire projectiles should have the flags set to "not harm shooter" to prevent monster infighting between same species. It wouldn't be so bad, but it does geta bit exsessive and almost too easy :). This includes the Mancubus, Arachnotron and hell knight replacements.

Okay, hope that should be useful, didnt' get round to testing all of them. Also, are the demon replacements blood green or is it just their insides? :D (Sorry, bad joke :D).

Projectile speeds taken into consideration - I should note that I havent been very accurate with regards to damage, hitspoints, speed etc yet, since it just requires a lot of testing.

And this lizard commando does spit, its just very hard to see at the moment (working on that). He also shits himself once in a while when you shoot him... so watch your feet :D

Sorry for forgetting to take out the artificial loop in the Cycloid emperors attack, I was just using it to tweak the rocket angles (I'm surprised you didnt complain how hard it is to dodge its rockets ;) )

The infighting is an unfortunate side effect of A_Explosion (see bugs forum), but it will hopefully be remedied by Randy or Graf sometime in future. All the explosives are already dontharmshooter'ed, and normal projectiles have the infighting taken care of automatically anyway.

The demons were going to have red blood, I just havent got round to changing their palettes yet... odd really cos it will only take 2 minutes. In fact I'll do that now.

Gimme ten minutes and I'll sort that lot out and reupload it.

Done and uploaded.

By the way, none of the monsters have gibs yet. I want to do some nice special effects for this, already have a generic gib splatter animation modified from strife, but since the monsters have a lot of hit points they hardly ever (if at all) enter the xdeath state. So does anyone know how to make rockets, etc force a monster into that state, in the same way that the Hexen super weapons do?

edit: blergh. I buggered the alien sprite names with the last upload so I fixed it. I found a way to make the monsters always gib anyway, by using the burn state as a gib state and making all the explosives cause flame damage. Now I just have to wait until I can override the rocket with a "flaming" one.

There is no way to force gibbing. What I'd like to see is to make the gib 'health' customizable instead of hard coding it to -initialhealth for Doom and -initialhealth/2 for all other games. There are some big monsters which should be gibbable but it's useless due to their high health.
Unfortunately in ZDoom's current state only Randy can make this change (as well as making the Arch-Vile's Heal: state a DECORATE property which is something I'd like to see, too.)

Hexen's super weapons have a flag called EXTREMEDEATH. But this is a weapon flag not a projectile flag. Otherwise it would be supported by DECORATE.

Beware, this can cause problems if used in combination with anything that needs 'real' flame damage. For now it'll work but it should be changed when it can be properly done.

Yep, it is a pretty ugly cheat, but for now its ok since neither doom nor duke had any actual flaming weapons nor flammable decorations. Note that my uploaded version doesnt have any gibs at all, since I was using A_CustomMissile to spawn a new actor with the correct scale (my gib animations are too small). It does look nice though, theres one generic gib animation that chucks bits of meat everywhere :D

This is pretty good. Enemies are a little tough to kill, but with the help of p0wer Weapons I was able to balance the odds again. It's a shame that there are no really good Duke weapons patches for Doom.

Oh I don't know about that. IMO, Duke 3D in its entirety was "flaming".

Hmm?

Anyway, I agree the enemies are quite a bit harder than Doom's so I'll probably tone them down a bit. I dont usually have much trouble on any of the doom 2 levels, but this pack is making me sweat :D

Keep the enemies as they are! I'm currently going through Doom1 with them, and it's one of the greatest challenges evar! And it's fun. :P

None of you have seen the awesome gib effect I cooked up for these yet ;) Too bad I had to recompile Zdoom to make them not crash :(

I agree with Giest (?!!?) Don't change the monsters. They make for some killer co-op and it makes the regular maps a challenge again.

I have one suggestione concerning the Queen enemy you made, though, Chiv... First off, it's supposed to shit enemies at you. And also, make use of its electric attack animation. Make it shoot little bolts of electricity at you.

...

Meh. It's not like you'll listen to me anyway. :P
