Re: slope problems
Put 2 sectors side by side sharing a common line. Make them have different heights (floor or ceiling or both). Make the shared line type 181. Set the first arg to slope a floor or the second to slope a ceiling. Use a 1 to slope the sector on the front side of the line, use a 2 to slope the sector on the back of the line. In game, the appropriate sector will be sloped so that it is the same height as the sector on the other side of the line.
eg
One sector has a floor of height 0 and it shares a line with a sector with a floor of height 64. The shared line has its front side facing the 64 height floor. Setting the shared line as a type 181 then setting the first arg to 1 will slope the height 64 floor down to meet the 0 height one at the line. Setting the arg to 2 instead will slope the 0 height floor up to meet the 64 height one.

i guess this would be more easier when db2 comes out with zdoom plugins for slopes but if i cant even get them to appear then i guess that wouldnt even help

Re: slope problems
The tutorials page is your friend. It goes unspoken for the most part but is a pretty good showcase for how to do zdoom-hexen stuff. For deorate, I recommend looking at Torm's Beastiary for examples on using decorate.
Re: slope problems
I still suck at slopes. I mix up front and back all the time.
You'll get better.

Re: slope problems
The best way to think of it is to draw a little diagram and stick it on your bulletin board, as I got confused for the longest time myself before I had the little diagram committed to memory.Ceeb wrote:I still suck at slopes. I mix up front and back all the time. You'll get better.
Draw two boxes sharing one line. Tic one side of the shared line. Put a 1 on the side with the tic, a 2 in the other box. That tells you which sector is going to receive the slope.
Argument 1 is for the floor. Argument 2 is for the ceiling. Most of the time you want to slope the floor for things like hills, rocks, cliff-faces, and most features of a structure.

Re: slope problems
The wiki only talks about ZDoom-related features. To know how to import lumps in a wad you gotta search for a tutorial here on the web. Try the Doom Wikia, or google "XWE tutorial".
