Sprite Sheet generation

Post by janiform »

Is there any tool that, given a set of image files, will assemble them into a single image/sprite sheet automatically? This would be a great boon to me.

I'm sure that would be a great boon to ALL of us here, but I am not aware of any tool that does such a thing. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

It baffles me that there's nothing to do this.

I doubt it would be too hard a program to make.

I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for, but XnView can create a contact sheet.

Select the images in the XnView browser, than click on Contact Sheet under Create. Select the number of rows and colums and it gives you something like this
