Bridge Thing -

Post by Galaxy_Stranger »

I'm using the bridge thing and I can't figure out how to slap textures onto it. What's that "Transfer Sector Light" thingy about?

If you're referring to the Invisible Bridge Thing, it doesn't have textures. It is nothing but an invisible Thing that blocks player and monster movement. You need to provide the textures yourself, either by using 2-sided linedefs or using a Transfer Heights special.

Thanks.

I was looking to this here: http://www.zdoom.org/zdkb/bridge.html
and I see that he used "transfer floor light" for the lava, but I assume it was transfer heights used for the actual textures.

It said that textures were added but not how, so I thought maybe you treat the bridge as a decoration or other thing which would be assigned sprites in dehacked/bex perhaps.

I'll play with Transfer Heights and see if I can figure it out.

If you want a sprite-based bridge thing, you could build it using DECORATE.

Just slap quite a few 2s linedefs as crossbeams around the bridge things and make sure you y-offset them.
